Grays New Grove Savoir-Faire (Islay Whisky cask finish) 2013
Peat, barbecue smoke and a dry earthy bite lead here — the Islay whisky finish takes over almost completely. Underneath sit yellow fruit, light caramel, orange and soft spice, but several tasters felt the smoke "emporte tout" and left little room for New Grove's usual fruit. One reviewer also found it dialed down a touch too far in strength.
The community says- Bold Islay peat
- Coherent smoke-spice mix
- Whisky dominates fruit

How does Grays New Grove Savoir-Faire (Islay Whisky cask finish) 2013 taste?
Aggregated from 21 community reviews.
Heavily peated whisky-finished rum, smoke-forward Enjoyable if you like peated whisky, but the Islay finish dominates and buries the fruit. Rated around 7/10 — the least favorite of the Savoir-Faire trio for several.

Very prominent Islay finish. It's okay but not mindblowing. Cool if you like peated whisky though

#4955 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Light wood, faint caramel, light smoke, faint peat, light citrus, light orange, faint chocolate. Palate Round, light wood, faint smoke, light peat, light earthy, spice, light orange, light salty. Finish Medium to long, light wood, light peat, faint smoke, light salty, fruits, spice.

fruit and earthiness, of the three Savoir Faire I like the least
