Romdeluxe Worthy Park Limited Batch Series Jamaica 2015
Peat smoke hits first, then flambéed banana, caramel and a twist of orange zest underneath — a Worthy Park pot-still that took an Islay-cask finish. What members like is that the smoke stays "well integrated" rather than swallowing the rum whole. At 63.9% it's sharp neat; most tasters add a good splash of water to let the fruit and roasted oak come through.

#4513 07.12.2023 Pretty good rum especially when looking at the price tag. Fruity and fresh once rested with nice caramel and a smoky touch. The palate is warm and fruity with some anise. The finish is medium to long and warm with fruit and smoke. Love the smoky touch. The empty glass has a faint tobacco note.

Typical Worthy Park. Clear whisky finish in the aftertaste. It's not my taste. But in principle the finish is well integrated.
Review by Palo - V Poháriku
I'm not a big fan of peated whisky finishes in rum. Sometimes it adds a nice layer to the rum, but most of the time it feels kind of artificial. I think this is the case with this rum. I wonder how it would taste without the finish, probably just some sweet not concrete flavours. For me it lacks more personality. Also the alcohol is not integrated well. I am happy to have tasted this, but if I want something smoky, I prefer to reach out directly for whisky. I can imagine a "whisky" sour cocktail from this could taste great. Will try next time.

The 1st note on the nose is smoky, but quickly gives way to a delicious banana/caramel cake with a hint of vanilla and spice. On the palate, spices (vanilla, nutmeg), caramel and just the right amount of smokiness are very pleasant. The more you taste it, the more gourmand it becomes. In the background, orange zest adds a fresh, fruity note. The finish is spicy and caramelized, then becomes tangy like a lemon candy.
Review by Boletus
This rum needs a lot of water added to soften the alcoholic sharpness. The dilution then brings out the aromas of flambéed banana and roasted wood in a very appealing way. The peat smoke note from the Islay cask is also present, but does not dominate the proceedings and is well integrated.

Level: strong (3 of 5) but leaning towards moderate because it is so pleasing and well crafted. I'm in ore.
Review by Jakob
Unsurprisingly, the Islay finish puts its stamp on the rum, but Worthy Parks are for me the exception to the rule - namely a rum in which this dominant finish does not completely overwhelm the rum. Why you need it again and again new attempts, I still understand only conditionally - The Rum Cask and Rum Artesanal have actually presented here sufficiently convincing, so the whole thing seems just gradually somewhat predictable. Remains nevertheless an overall good rum.
