Nobilis Montebello Rum No. 22C 2007
One taster called it a "flüssiges Kräuterbonbon" — a liquid herbal candy — and that's the vibe: dried herbs, yellow fruit and black pepper, with the cognac cask pushing brown sugar, raisin and vanilla on top. A 13-year Guadeloupe agricole that stays gentle at 43.4%. Several folks wished for more punch, but most found it a soft, well-balanced way into the grassy agricole style.

Aggregated from 33 community reviews.
Soft, cognac-cask agricole, easy to sip Well-liked as an elegant, easygoing agricole where the cognac finish really shows. The common gripe: at 43.4% it feels a touch tame, and the finish fades fast.
People easing into agricole who want soft, fruity, cognac-tinged rum
Drinkers wanting big cask-strength intensity and a long finish

After the No 22B now the longer matured, but unfortunately reduced (cask strength? So already reduced in the cask...?) 22C. Nose: clearly spicier but also sweetly fruity. The maturation in cognac casks is very noticeable. Brown sugar, almost cotton candy and honey together with papaya, raisin and vanilla. Slightly woody, but more in the direction of cork. Some caramel chocolate and cream toffee on the back and cognac again. Palate: quite tasty for only 43.%, which is clearly due to the cognac cask, which has also changed the base material considerably. Spicy and slightly woody with a slight aniseed note. It then takes on a fruity note of redcurrant, kiwi and gooseberry. Grassy sugar cane in the rather short finish. Not bad for only 43.4%.

8,6:On the nose, sugarcane, vegetal, herbaceous, flowery, mineral, sweet with honey, cognac barrel impact is obvious with leather, raisins, roasted wood notes like cream toffee, caramel, brown sugar, spicy, citrus fruits, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, grapes, tropical fruits arise, roasted nuts, green pepper and vanilla, oak presence is strong, sugarcane is earthy. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is sweet with sugarcane honey, flowery, herbaceous, mineral, candied, typical of agricole, vegetal, fruity with dried fruits like raisins and apricots, currants, prunes and peaches, kiwi, citrus fruits, as the wood is roasted with pastry, caramel, spicy with vanilla, anise.Cognac barrel impact is strong. 8,5:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, with earthy, herbaceous sugar cane, lemon grass, slightly dark with black tea, candied, fruity with raisins, grapes, kiwi, as the wood is warm, toasted with dark chocolate, nuts, leather, spicy with allspice, smoky, cognac barrel impact is still strong, chemical hints join. Edit:12.9.26

Beautiful Agricole with only a few green and grassy tones. Ideal for people who want to get to grips with Agricole. The ageing is spot on. And although it only has 43.4%, it is nice and intense and stays on the tongue for a long time.

Communitytreffen RumX Acht Oktober 2025. Ein netter, leichter Agricole, etwas mehr ABV wäre top. Ansonsten eine fruchtige, würzige und holzige Nase. Am Gaumen dann etwas Vanille, außerdem wieder Würze und auch Holz.

A lovely release. Fresh and lightly fruity with nicely integrated ABV. I would have loved a bit more power, read higher ABV preferably above 55% because that's where the Montebello's usually really kick in.

Cologne-Bonn rum tasting: the cask influence is pronounced, the flavor solid. Lots of spice, vanilla, wood, and fruit from nose to finish. On the palate, blackcurrants and sour cherries, which makes this rum really awesome.

Wonderful nose and palate. Here the aging has really worked for the good.

Solid Montebello, already with wood, dark fruits, and spices on the nose. Similar profile on the palate. Not yet with great finesse, but already a promise of what the distillery is capable of.

Schwerer Cognac Rum. Braucht mehr Zeit
Review by Johnny Rumcask
