Ansprechende Melange aus getrockneter Aprikose, Toffee, der leicht metallischen Mineralik der typischen Bleistiftspäne-Noten, sowie Würze von Lakritz, Pfeffer, Anis, Holz…aromatisch komplex, hintenraus eine gute Portion Rauch. Aufgrund der etwas zu intensiven Röstnote im Abgang für mich nicht ganz vorne im Wettbewerbsfeld der 1990er Enmore VSGs, aber dennoch auf sehr guten Niveau angesiedelt.

8,5:On the nose, pencil shavings overwhelmingly strike our nosetrils, with slightly roasted wood notes like leather, nuts, spices like anise, vanilla and pepper, the fruits are weaker with citrus and yellow fruits. On aeration, green molasses speaks out, with herbaceous tones and tea, dark licorice, some solvents flow undercurrent. 8,7:On the palate, the attack is delicious with roasted wood notes, slightly smoky, spices like pepper, vanilla and anise, herbaceous molasses and tea, then of course pencil shavings.The fruits are citrus, dried and yellow...After resting the rum, real charm of this rum shows, round and balanced, creamy toffee and licorice enhancing our mouth feel. 8,8:The finish is top, really balanced, tasty, sweet and velvety with variety of different fruits, slightly tannic, smoky, roasted wood notes, spices and strong tea and pencil shavings..

04.03.2023 Had a nice day with friends and old colleagues. I had the opportunity to taste a few very good whiskies at the event. Another very nice release from Romdeluxe, unfortunately the price tag is pretty steep so free samples is always good. A rum that is medium intense with nice fruit and spices. The light licorice fits the profile well. The palate is nice and has a slight medicinal note. The finish is very long and warm.
