Very intense, especially the spice breaks its way here and provides a powerful counterpoint to the fruit esters. Complex and quite demanding, thus very exciting. Fits seamlessly into the group of high-quality 1995 Clarendons/Monymusks.

Very cool EMB! Pink grapefruit, papaya, grilled lime, spicy ginger and black tea with a little clove and lots of wood. Really tasty, alcohol perfectly integrated and a very long finish. For me, one of the best old Clarendons to date.

16.05.2023 Normally I don't do tastings during the week because I have to go to work pretty early the next day. This blind tasting just stating "Colours of Rum" just tickled my brain to say "book and participate" and I didn't regret it. It wasn't only a great experience, but we had a blast of an evening with many new faces around the table. Wow, this one is the bomb and the price may be on the high note, but definitely matches what you get. A very intense profile with fruit and overall good balance. ABV well integrated and the palate is lightly dry and spicy. The finish is forever and also lightly dry. I really like the minty note in the profile.

Big Clarendon 95, just like the other great representatives of this year. A delicious blend of pastry (almond, cookie dough) and fruit (pineapple, candied citrus), all wrapped in a fine, noble woodiness, with a hint of menthol. Really top, top. The balance between all this is really good. A great rum that goes perfectly with a great game! So a big thank you Jost!

Kräftiger Clarendon mit viel Tiefe und reifer, deutlich gereifter Aromatik. In der Nase vergorene Frucht, Banane, Klebstoff und würziges Holz, begleitet von einer leicht erdigen Note. Am Gaumen intensiv und trocken mit kräftigem Eicheinfluss, Gewürz, etwas Zitrus und einer dezent bitteren Kante, die gut zum Stil passt. Der Alkohol trägt das Profil druckvoll, ohne aus der Spur zu geraten. Insgesamt ein markanter, vielschichtiger 95er Clarendon mit kräftigem Charakter und spürbarer Jahrgangstypizität.

Strong EMB with lots of tea, wood and mint/eucalyptus notes that play around the fruits and the glue. On the fruit side, lots of mango, lime, papaya and grapefruit. Compared to the other 1995 from Colours of Rum, this one is more on the tea, wood and menthol side, while the other one was more fruity (by 95 EMB standards 😂). A direct comparison is still pending.

Kleines CoR 1995er Clarendon X-Tasting: wie zu erwarten eine Spitzenabfüllung mit viel Minze und Tee welche sogar das vielfältige Fruchtbouquet übertönen. Holz- und Würzaromen bewegen sich im Hintergrund. Im Abgang ein klein wenig scharfkantig. Finde die andere Abfüllung auf Grund der stärkeren Früchte/ Ester und des längeren Abgangs einen Tick besser.

Musste grad echt überlegen, ist das überhaupt Jamaika? Also Früchte sind hier für mich gar nicht erkennbar, dafür aber recht viel Klebstoff. Holzig, würzig, röstig und intensiv ist er aber. Ein schöner Rum.

After about 20 min, the rum develops magnificently on the nose: ripe tropical fruits partly fermented vanilla and spice from the barrel. Not as overpowering as some other Jamaicans but intense and very balanced. On the palate, the alcohol surprised me first. The nose did not suggest that. With a few drops of water viiiuch better! The fruitiness can hold its own well next to spice and barrel which is not self-evident for rum aged for so long. The finish is a seamless continuation. Again, very balanced and the fruits also appear again. Unfortunately, the rum dies out quite quickly. Since only one thing helps: sipping again 😉This is an excellent rum that does not necessarily come up with brute intensity but brings complexity and elegance. In addition, it is surprisingly little bitter for its age. he delivers the highest pleasure with a few drops of water.

A really nice drop, rich in spices, wood and grapefruits, limes with a few peppermint leaves. Initially it felt like it misses something standing out a bit more to reach or even scratch the 9.0 mark. But after some time in the glass it keeps on growing more and more complex, adding mango and papaya, hints of tar, and the wood gets smoother. So give it some time and you will be rewarded. Franconian Tasting Gang on 02.03.2024 Basically a solid, complex rum. But unfortunately I'm not really warming to the Clarendon profile at the moment. Maybe my taste will change again. But unfortunately I can't praise to the skies what I don't really like at the moment.

In my opinion, it has everything that an outstanding Jamaican rum needs. Juicy tropical fruits meet ripe oak aromas and are rounded off with mint and spices. It is brought out with impressive elegance and lightness, making you almost completely forget the high alcohol strength. Dream material!

Clarendon 1995 EMB in direct comparison. The Colours of Rum is on a par with the RA. Both are outstanding bottlings, but they also need some time in the glass. But then you get what you expect from the EMB vintage.

Once again, a very tasty Clarendon, nice glue notes on the nose alongside lots of fruit and tea. On the palate and in the finish, I really like the mint note. Just the right amount of wood and alcohol, also very well integrated.

Impressive tropical fruit bomb. Bananas, apricots, leather, wood, mildly spicy. Long banana caramel aftertaste with warmth that doesn't go away. Almost makes my face sweat. At 65,7% it's damn strong but very well integrated. Might just be my top3 favourites. Absolutely love this jamaican style. Bottle's so rare that need to save this for special occasions only. Worthy Park 2007 is a close affordable sipper in my humble experience, but the age here is showing more wood and complexities, and I really like that. Superb.
