CoR Carrere Montebello Guadeloupe No. 1 1998

"Not sure what to make of it" sums up the mood here. This 1998 Montebello leans herbal and vegetal — dried herbs, citrus, cedar and a heavy dose of anise, with a soft peach-syrup edge. Agricole fans on the green, savory side find real elegance in it. But at 43.3% after 23 years, several tasters wished for more power and punch.

I was curious to check off Montebello, but I’m not sure what to make of it. It feels underpowered and not particularly flavoursome.

Spamming with a few older tastings that I haven't added yet. Pretty good release but I would have loved a higher ABV. Overall balance is OK but expected more from a release this old.

Since I don't like aniseed and this bottling seems to have a lot of it, I can't do anything with it.
