#4960 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Fresh, medium intense, fruity, pineapple, roasted, light wood, light nutts, faint chocolate. Palate Medium intense, light wood, light roasted, faint coffee, fruity, light chocolate, nutts, warm, pineapple. Finish Long and warm, wood, light roasted, fruity, light coffee, faint chocolate, light nutty.

So what do we do now? This rum is really very fruity on the nose and then predominantly vanilla and very fruity on the palate. Seems to be a Barbados :) But I don't like the Riccis that much.

I wasn't expecting much for the price that is being asked. But overall, for the price category, it delivers a decent performance. The alcohol could be better integrated. Otherwise, the individual markers of the blend are easily recognizable and don't ruin each other.

Interesting blend that perfectly combines the typical aromas of both islands. On the nose and palate, you can detect tropical fruits—pineapple above all—and esters, but also wood/toast aromas. On the palate and finish, the Barbados flavors dominate with chocolate, nuts, wood, and toast notes. Alcohol is a bit strong but not badly integrated. 2nd tasting: a bit more sweetness and green apple on the nose. On the palate, very well balanced between both islands. Alcohol is better integrated than in the first tasting +2 points.

On aeration, Bajan markers join, with coconut, nuts, caramel, cinnamon, the rum is now slightly smoky and some confectionery is present, herbaceous and diary tones. 8,2:On the palate, the attack is intense, at first Jamaican with pineapple, banana, quickly Bajan overpowers with roasted wood notes like caramel, roasted nuts, spices like cinnamon and coconut.After resting the rum, the notes are more diverse with Jamaican markers joining, like fermented fruits, pastry, vanilla, as Bajan side participates with tobacco, crème brûlée, dark chocolate. 8,3:The finish is long, tannic, spicy, grassy and with lots of roastedness and notes from it like coffee, caramel, chocolate, some smokiness and confectionery, as the fruits are tropical with maracuja and banana...

Le nez est très gourmand, très chocolat …. Le funky est assez léger ! En bouche on sent les watt mais cela rehausse assez bien le jus ! Toujours une belle gourmandise ! le côté Jamaique prend plus de place, pour laisser une finale avec une petite amertume agréable
