Man kann hier den Eindruck bekommen, dass bei diesem Rum Zucker auf Alkohol trifft, ohne wirklich Platz für anderes zu lassen. Das Beste an dem Rum ist der Geruch, schön angenehm süß, man fühlt sich wie auf Wolken aus Zuckerwatte. Puerto de Ayas pur zu trinken würde ich unterlassen, in Cocktails oder gar in nem Rum Cola ist er ganz passabel, sogar recht unaufdringlich, aber solange sich dieser Rum nicht hinter fremden Geschmacksprofilen verstecken kann, erlebt man leider nur Zucker und Klebstoff.
