Velier Hampden Trelawny Endemic Birds (Black Billed Streamertail) OWH 2012
"A nice change from the usual Hampdens" is how one member put it — this OWH mark reads softer than the estate's ester bombs. Expect nail polish and glue on the nose, then banana, pineapple and mango on the palate, with minty and woody edges. At 61.8% the alcohol is mostly well integrated, though a few tasters felt it needs more time to settle.
The community says- Tropical fruit funk
- Long spicy finish
- But: Alcohol not fully integrated

The look inside the bottle
How does Velier Hampden Trelawny Endemic Birds (Black Billed Streamertail) OWH 2012 taste?
Aggregated from 19 community reviews.
Milder Hampden funk, banana and glue Most people liked this milder Hampden: funky glue-and-tropical-fruit character with a long spicy-fruity finish. The catch a couple raised is the alcohol not being fully integrated yet.

#4721 09.05.2024 Relaxing at home with a few of my Endemic Birds Samples. Nose Light wood, balanced, fruity, faint roasted, light glue, pineapple, ester. Palate Round, balanced, light glue, ester, banana, fruity, light citrus, light wood. Finish Medium long, round, medium dry, fruity, pineapple, wood, faint smoke. The empty glass has light chocolate, light cherry, apple and light grass.

... Hampden, a legendary Jamaican distiller that produces rum as well as alcohol for perfume. In all the rums from this distillery you will taste wild esters, after which your whole organism will soak up the smell of golden tropical fruits - mango, papaya, pineapple, peach. One of the "must try before you die" rums

Day 13 Sample de Luxe calendar. My first OWH and quite honestly this is a nice change from the other delicious Hampdens. Very nice balance between fruit and spices.

The color is like honey between yellow and brown. The nose is mix of funky tones of nail polish and tropical fruit. The taste palette - at first a blast of glue, then minty tones, wood and fruit I really like the integrated alcohol- despite of having 62%, it’s still manageable - you will feel it, but it doesn’t hurt.

I purchased it with the belief that I would find a less mighty rum than the usual Hampden, and I did. This OWH did not give me much satisfactionim poorly integrated alcohol and classic Hampden taste but less intense

Honestly very much liked it. Nice nose - complex, a bit funky / spicy / woody. Strong attack, perhaps a tad too much alcohol - but manageable. Aromas of leather, girofle, spice, fruit. Long agreeable finish

The aroma on me rather less pronounced, a little mint and glue. On the palate there is a nice roll out of fruit and a tangy spiciness. The alcohol is nicely integrated, the finish is warm, but I personally malm with the price to performance ratio with this series.

Ročník 2012. S 8,0 z 10 jde o velmi dobrou lahev, byť ne špičku mého žebříčku.
