Savanna Edition Bois Rouge (1992-2022)
"Als würde man an einem Stück Tahitivanille nuckeln," as one taster put it — this Savanna leans green and herbal, with olive brine, fresh-cut cane, pepper and a real vanilla-pod streak. Several call it classic Savanna DNA: vegetal, a touch of glue and funk, with honey and green apple softening the edges. At 57% the alcohol sits surprisingly well integrated.
The community says- Vivid vanilla pod
- Green, herbal complexity

How does Savanna Edition Bois Rouge (1992-2022) taste?
Aggregated from 91 community reviews.
Herbal, olive-brine agricole with vanilla depth Well-liked as a "good but not spectacular" Savanna — vegetal, peppery and vanilla-driven with a long finish. A few find it a bit unbalanced, and many grumble about the price for a 5-year rum.

One of my best rum
Review by Jordan Signor
Probably a Savanna designed to have its own identity, complete and complex, distant from the old HERR. With distinct notes of gouache and plasticine, a nice buttery mouthfeel, but also loads of medicinal notes. A nice sipper, a game-changer compared to more tamed or noble Savanna, funkier in a delighting way.

Very herbaceous Agricole.

A rum tasted at the Rum and Gin Festival in Lucerne in 2023 and 2024. A very vegetal, floral nose with green olive, yellow fruit and ivy. The palate is full of aromas, with lots of green olive and all kinds of herbs and fruit. The finish is quite long, with vegetal aromas, fresh tobacco, cedar wood and, above all, vanilla bean.

It's like sucking on a piece of tahitian vanilla. In itself, everything absorbs vanilla that has been in a wooden barrel, but the aroma then presents itself as in other vanilla-containing foods - you can taste it somehow, but it's something else - this one tastes like you're really biting into such a fresh, juicy vanilla pod, otherwise there's maybe some peach and leather, all in all a really nice rum and the Agricole also comes through very well, but the price is a bit bold ... but you can give it a try 😂🤪 .... and the trend for the prices of further releases continues to go up nicely after a year .... .... Somehow it's getting better and better, especially now that I've been able to try more Savanna for comparison. I still think the price is stupid, but for me this is one of the good Savannas... and you can also get a damn cool Manhattan twist with it and now I've had to adjust it upwards a bit, which I wasn't expecting.

An interesting rum that tastes almost exactly like it smells. Very spice, herb and flower dominant with salty seawater and olive brine to bring it to the next level. Berrymix (specifically blackberry) and light woody notes bring some welcoming sweetness to tame all of the above. At the very end earthy camphor kicks it into second gear and leads to a very tasty cooling finish. Lovely. Unfortunately the price is too high for a spirit this young -for my liking-.

Not much to say, if you like Savanna, this for you. But don’t expect any spectacular fireworks. What surprised me was the really good integrated alcohol. No need to water it down at all.

Pretty good Savanna rum, very fresh and fruity with nice spices and a hint of chocolate. The flavours get even more clear in the empty glass after a while. I do love the smoky finish mixed with some leather. Price to quality is OK.

The flavor is soft and at the same time spicy, the palate shows its lively side and finishes with notes of fresh sugar cane.

A good Agricole with a lot of glue, somewhat unbalanced at the end, which makes it interesting. But: The price is completely exaggerated for a young rum, which brings us to the label. For me, a misleading declaration, since it is implied here that it is a 1992 vintage.

"Impressionnant, on suce un bon morceau de bois relevé de quelques épices ! Par contre, c'est très cher pour ce que c'est. En resume, mes notes de degutation : Au nez : Herbacé, Végétal, Raisins, Vanillé En bouche : Boisé, Végétal, Herbacé, Poivré, Tabac, Camphre La finale plutot orientee vers : Végétal, Tabac, Chêne"

The same profile as the 2005 Creol but much nicer. The time (and the blend bottled here) has softened it, it has gone on aromas of dried grapes and honey which make it a very pleasant and easy to drink Agricole. Really nice, after that it's still a bit expensive compared to what you can find in Agricole at the same price...

Yes, is already quite clear Savanna mir the so own profile.nose: artificial-spicy-fruity. As always, a crude mix of something like nail polish and phenol with sweet honey and a potpourri of fruits, here green apple, sour cherry, raspberry and currant. Mixed in with this is something vegatable like olive and pickled artichoke. Always interesting.Palate: distinctly spicy and aromatic. Savanna DNA here too. Artificially fruity, goes more in the direction of blackberry. Honeyed sweetness and something herbal and vegetal again. Seems a bit salty at first and then becomes slightly bitter and woody with vanilla and anise. Finishes with artificial honeydew melon. The many different barrels make their presence felt: artificial fruit and vegstibles at the same time. Nice entry into the Savanna world

Tolik ovoce v nekolika malo kapkach tekutiny jste dlouho necitili.

Hmm, this is still a good rum, but besides the weird aging description this is not outstanding to celebrate. Savanna seems to bring out a rum to celebrate any special occasion. In 5 years there will be nothing left but a special edition for Mondays
