Romdeluxe Wild Series Rum Panama No. 24 (Batch 2) 1999
Most people are surprised this is Panama at all — instead of the usual mellow marzipan, you get a smoky, peaty, woody bruiser that one taster called an "Aromabombe." Expect campfire smoke, tobacco leaf, earth, light caramel and a warm, long finish. The heavy whisky-cask influence divides people: some love it, one felt it buried the Panama underneath.

Aggregated from 32 community reviews.
Smoky, peaty, cask-strength Panama surprise Loved by those who want Panama with a peaty, whisky-cask twist. The catch: that smoky finish can dominate, and a couple felt it tips out of balance over time.

First off. You get a pretty good rum for your money. Panamanian rums are usually kind of subtle or mellow with some marzipan in the profile. This one however has that extra boom that you often want. The rum is nice and warm on the palate with light fruit and nice wood. I like the light caramel and menthol on the palate. The finish is long and warm and sticks with you for a good while.

Second tasting: the peatiness and sweetness come out more, making it unbalanced. It's a shame, because it was great when it opened... After oxidation, it gains in complexity. Both complex and accessible. Very good!

Wow! What a powerful aroma bomb! Dark, dirty, smoky on the nose, like a wild campfire in summer. On the palate, the full broadside plus the revelation of a surprisingly woody, earthy, herbal side.

Very interesting stuff. Something extraordinary. tart, pomegranate, not ripe melone, tobacco leaves, light peaty, earthy. Definitely on finish you feel that pomegranate notes, when sour juice are gone… try it!

A very distinctive whisky finish, which I don't like, but here it just works and it's perversely delicious! The Panama is fully masked by the finish.

At first taste, I wouldn't say it's Panama. This rum surprised me very pleasantly - I can imagine having a whole bottle, not just a sample, and enjoying discovering the flavours. The taste was so different from other rums that even my wife tasted it 3 times . For the % it has it incorporated very well into the overall flavour - there was wood, cinnamon, camphor or a little menthol as well as the sweetness of the cane. The finish is drier, woodier and medium - with a nice aftertaste on the palate.

Romdeluxe Wild Series Rum Panama přináší bohatou aromatickou paletu s tóny dřeva, vanilky a karamelu, doplněné stopami rašeliny, trávy a kouře. Aroma je vrstevnaté, odhaluje sladkost karamelizovaného cukru a náznaky sudů a whiskey, což přidává na hloubce. Chuť je výrazně dřevitá s hřejivým podtónem, doprovázená jemnou chutí tabáku a koření. Kouřový charakter spolu s tóny pepře a karamelu dotváří komplexní profil, který ocení znalci hledající nevšední chuťové zážitky. English: Romdeluxe Wild Series Rum Panama offers a rich aromatic profile with notes of wood, vanilla, and caramel, enhanced by hints of peat, grass, and smoke. The nose is layered, revealing the sweetness of caramelized sugar and subtle barrel and whiskey hints, adding depth. The palate is notably woody with a warm undertone, complemented by light tobacco and spice flavors. A smoky character, along with pepper and caramel notes, completes a complex profile, perfect for connoisseurs seeking an unconventional tasting experience.
