Bacardi Gold Reserve (Añejo)

5.5/10 16 community reviews ↓

Collectors chasing old Puerto Rican bottlings are the real audience here — as a rum to drink, it underwhelms. The nose is the best part: wood, vanilla, burnt caramel, a little dried fruit and dark chocolate. Then the palate turns thin and dry, spirit-forward with cask spice and tobacco, and the finish disappears fast. One taster even hunted for the rum in a daiquiri and couldn't find it.

The community says
  • Pleasant woody nose
  • Thin palate
  • Very short finish

Aggregated from 16 community reviews.

Woody, dry old Bacardi with a thin palate Nose gets a nod, palate splits low: thin, dry and short, with the alcohol poking through. Most see it as a historical curiosity more than a pour to seek out.

collectors of old Puerto Rican rum

The liquid History of Puerto Rico - vielen Dank an Artur für die Teilung! Etwas Fasseinfluss, Holz, Vanille, nicht so schlecht.

Arturs Puerto Rico Tasting, danke für die tolle Übersicht und Historie :-) Jetzt drei Bacardi Gold Reserve in Vergleich. Deutlich dunkler, Tabak, verbrannter Zucker, leichte Pfeffernoten.

The liquid History of Puerto Rico Tasting Nr. 13 - sehr alkoholisch in der Nase, daneben Holz/ Fass und Vanille, etwas Nuss.

Rum No. 13 erneut Vanille und Holz. 😊

Dicker Respekt!

6:On the nose, the first impression we get is pleasant with tropical fruits, the wood gives us a caramel, it comes a bit alcoholic, there are also some apples, pears. 4,7:On the palate, the attack is thin, bitter and alcoholic with sweet, burnt sugar, a but smoky, there are some spices, fruits and a tobacco. 5:The finish is quite short and dry, alcoholic with burnt sugar, caramel, wood spice and citrus, tobacco...
