Ron Botran Rare Blend Vintage French Wine Cask
Opinions land in the middle here. The white-wine cask is what people notice most — it adds structure and a faint sour or bitter edge that some find interesting and others find off. Underneath sits familiar Guatemalan caramel, marzipan and a little dried fig. At 40% it reads thin and short, and a few tasters call it sweet and fairly plain. Pleasant sipping, not memorable.

Review by Vincent D

Promising nose, nice wood spice, quite mild and complex; also delicious on the tongue, sweet, vanilla, mild, spicy, nice finish, PLV too high
Review by Felix Reiber
An uncomplicated rum that is suitable as a dessert. A little too expensive for the target group it is aimed at. The maturation in wine barrels comes through well, but the 40% vol. weakens the taste a little, which is the case with 90% of all rums with this alcohol strength. The notes of caramel and marzipan are nevertheless very pleasant and persist from the nose to the finish. A good rum to enjoy on the side.

Weak rum with no distinct taste. In the wine there is a pleasant feeling of wine but that's all...
Review by Blockzeitwilli
The nose promises (fruity, sweet, little alcoholic) unfortunately more than the taste follows. Short finish. PLV does not suit me here.
Review by Jack M
Maybe too much time in the wine casks. It had a less natural flavour and lacked any bite.
