Swell de Spirits Long Pond Swell & Co. Co-bottling series #4 ITP 2007
Regulars keep saying the same thing: this is an atypical Long Pond. Instead of the usual high-ester funk, ITP brings pastry sweetness, flambéed banana, toasted coconut, orange zest and a good dose of oak and spice. At 68% it's hot — several tasters wanted a touch of water — but give it 20 minutes and the fruit opens up. A few even mistook it for a big Foursquare.

Atypical low-ester Long Pond, hot but gourmand Loved for its baked-goods gourmandise, tropical fruit and integrated wood, though the 68% heat and a slightly bitter, dry palate divide people. Atypically low-ester for Long Pond.

Sehr guter Long Pond!!

Tres reussi !!

Extremely cool funky (low ester) long pond. Alcohol top integrated and really fun after just 5 minutes of breathing. I am very positively surprised by this bottling!🤤🇯🇲💣 For me, it can easily keep up with the previous velier 2007 bottlings! Hard to say which ester mark has been hit here... From the sweet notes it could be a MBS from the fermented notes but also almost a TECA... Supposedly it's an ITP! In any case, really cool stuff! Flavorful flambéed banana, lots of orange peel - zest and fresh juice, black pepper, dark chocolate, some mint and coconut macaroons! 🤤

Wertung: 8,7

Strong release from Swell ! Well balanced and despite 68% really good to drink ... am actually rather fan of higher Ester Marks just at Long Pond but this clearly proves that there is also in the unterem range really good stuff ... great fruit, some wood, some bitterness in the finish and almost perfectly integrated alcohol make fun for more! Sehr schöner Long Pond Low Ester.

Review by Rare Akuma
First and foremost fruity wafts of toasted coconut, blackberries and orange zest; followed by caramelised banana and custard filled pastries. The heart consists of oak and malt, lightly nutty and bitter coffee, chased by a little bit of glue stick and lots of black tea. Prominent banana and toasted coconut on the palate. More bakery notes: vanilla, cinnamon and crème patissière. Toast with milky coffee on the side. Subsequently intensely spicy with black pepper. Ends in more floral black tea. The finish is medium in length with caramelised banana and coconut as well as coffee with slightly too much milk.

Wuchtiger, tropisch gereifter Long Pond. Sehr gut!
Review by Oliver
Untypical Long Pond. Little ester and rather hints of the barrel-strong Appleton Hearts. Very intense and concentrated. Alcohol could be a bit better integrated. Nevertheless, exciting profile!
