Beautiful Demerara profile. Pleasant drinking strength, heavy syrupy sweetness, vanilla, tobacco and wood are well integrated, malt, coffee and dried yellow fruit, cola and a little smoky on the finish. Good rum but not a high-flyer.

Dark and heavy, it comes across... Lots of dark fruits.... Plums and raisins Dried fruits in general are very much in the foreground. A lot of wood but also a nice sweetness... Oily and hardly any alcohol in the mouth.

Like the dark and heavy profile. Very much on the edge of being too woody, though. SBS has clearly the upper hand side-by-side. Side-by-side with some 2001 SWRs, the 1997 come out much more elegant and a little more moderated. Wood influence is more accentuated, on the edge of being overwhelming.

A fine Skeldon Demerara at great drinking strength for me. Typically dark and heavy. It is quite sweet with a lot of dark fruits and a tobacco note as well. Dark chocolate and some anise. I quite enjoyed this one!

Ist auch ein sehr guter Rum, aber hier fehlt tatsächlich der Wumms. Finde den viel zu dünn. Hat ein bißchen von allem, ist natürlich sehr röstig dank Mokka, Vanille und Schokolade, aber auch leicht würzig und holzig.

8,6:On the nose, roasted/charred wood notes, dark with leather, caramel, roasted nuts, chocolate, spicy with vanilla and maggi, candied molasses, herbaceous, dried apricots, prunes, metallic patina, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, Demerara sugar is candied, helps with crème brûlée, smokiness arises, confectionery, hints of malt, baking spices and maple, as various fruits join like dried currants, citrus fruits. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is heavy inspite of low ABV, with roasted wood notes like burnt sugar, cocoa and dark chocolate, leather, slightly metallic, sulphurous, spiciness is screaming with Maggi, pepper, vanilla acts as balancing factor.The molasses is candied, dark with black tea, with a combination of sandalwood, on oxidation it becomes perfumed.The fruits are prunes, dried apricots, raisins, citrus fruits...acidity could be noticed, if we air the rum well. 8,4:The finish is, long, dry&tannic, with burnt, roasted wood notes, slightly resinous and spicy, metallic patina, medicinal touch, pairing citrus and dried fruits.

Needs something in the glass, then the nose becomes nice spicy, malty-roasty, dark and intense. Here comes the Skeldon typical: dark caramel, heavy molasses and dark maple syrup. Spicy lovage, almost Maggi is accompanied by dried juicy plum and dried dark currants. Pleases me already very well.malty-spicy-roasty also on the palate. Slightly bitter and some wood acidity comes through. Also reminds me of treacle (strong, sour, licorice). I find mocha as well as chocolate, caramel and fresh brioche. In the back it becomes more sour and malty.clearly does not play at the top Skeldon with, but is, despite the only 47%, an intense, good, if a little too sour.

#6003 29.11.2025 Warming up before the tasting at Whisky Watcher in Odense tonight. Nose Round, wood, faint smoke, light plum, light chocolate, faint leather, light vanilla. Palate Medium intense, naturally sweet, wood, light roasted, light chocolate, light coffee, plum, light berries. Finish Long, wood, light roasted, light caramel, light coffee, light leather, dried fruit. Empty glass Prunes, vanilla, light leather, chocolate, light coffee.

Schöne dunkle Aromen: Röstig, holzig melassig. Insbesondere durch diese Maggi Note musste ich sofort an Dictador Rum denken, der diesem hier erstaunlich ähnlich ist. Obwohl der hier mehr zu bieten hat. Der Abgang ist mir zu bitter

Ein sehr guter Rum mit einer runden Nase ohne Fehlnote. Röstig, äußerst würzig, Karamell, Holz und etwas Frucht, was mit meine Lieblingsaromen sind. Im Mund etwas schwächer, da nur 47,6%, was man an der Nase jedoch nicht wirklich merkt. Bitterer Abgang ist eher kurz und hier fehlen mir dann etwas die Früchte.

Tolle Nase bei der noch eine leichte fruchtigkeit nach Pflaume durchkommt, allerdings ist es geschmacklich wirklich grenzwertig was die Bitterkeit und Röstnoten angeht. Eine leichte Säure, dazu intensive Noten von Pfeffer, Maggi und Leder, sowie Malz und verbrannter Kaffee/Mokka. Die verkohlten Noten sind für mich echt etwa top much, sorry...

On the nose: I get woody and leather notes mostly. Some vanilla and caramel. Quite dark and maybe dry ish profile on the nose. The typical burnt sugar notes are missing Taste: Woody, roasted with hints of licorice and light coffee notes.Acidic notes pop up here and there. Little bit of vanilla. After a few sips cocos notes appear. Good mouthfeel. Finish: Short finish and with quite a mix of flavours at first. Acidic notes, licorice. Bitter but in a mellow way. Cocoa and chocolate notes appear after few sips. Quite mixed feelings about this one. Im thinking that maybe this was aged for too long, but after a few sips this evolves much better and richer experience. So, for me,this one build up into a good sipper after a while.

I think this was my first Skeldon experience. Very complex in the nose. Got some vanilla and hints of wood. Deep, dark color and very flavourful. I'm getting notes of fresh berries, caramel, vanilla and mocca

A beautiful guyana. Very sweet and chocolatey but I find this mark with less complexity. Less liquorish and leather. More sweet. בקבוק גיאנה עם מארק קצת פחות מוכר מדודי הסוואל. המון שוקולד. עור. קפה. פירות כהים ותפוחים. דבש. אין פה בשורה חדשה בבקבוק הזה אבל בהחלא בקבוק מצויין שמתפתח יפה. גוף מלא עם המון עניין. פחות מלוכלך ועורי מהרבה גיאנה אחרים. אין אסטרים.

The nose is quite nice with vanilla, burnt Sugar dried fruit and roasted nuts. The mouth on the other hand is too woody for my taste. There is a lot of dark chocolate and bitter orange. The finish is also very woody and bitter.
