CDI Foursquare Barbados 2011

Opinions here genuinely split. Fans call it balanced and tasty, but several tasters keep hitting the same wall: the alcohol isn't fully tucked in and a bitterness creeps into the finish. Expect a dark, roasty single cask — cocoa, roasted nuts, light wood, a bit of pineapple. Give it air; rushed neat at 57%, the heat buries the subtler notes.

Quite alright. The alcohol could be better integrated. I had hoped for more

18.06.2022 Running through some samples at home. Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Light wood, faint smoke, pineapple, light coconut, faint chocolate, spice. Palate Wood, light roasted, fruity, pineapple, light coconut, light chocolate, spice, faint vegetal. Finish Medium long, light wood, dried fruit, light citrus, faint chocolate, light orange. Extra note. Needs to rest for a good while or the ABV will overshadow the more subtle flavours. ABV integration could have been better.

Relatively average foursquare. Alcohol could be much better integrated and overall it is something very dark, roasty and slightly bitter. Unfortunately, does not really convince me.

Einer der schlechteren Foursquare. Typische Foursquare Noten kommen relativ deutlich durch. Leider werden diese von alkoholischer Schärfe und Bitterkeit unangenehm begleitet. Der Abgang ist ziemlich kurz.

Here ones again the bitterness ruins this rum on the home stretch! A shame!!! and it starts so well, nice brown sugar in the nose. It is cask picks like that where it really starts a little bit like hit or miss, if it werent FS...
