Sip it over ice and it drinks like a coffee-chocolate dessert in a glass: dark chocolate, espresso, mocha and caramel, all wrapped in heavy sweetness. Several tasters flat-out call it a liqueur, not a rum, and note the sugar is dialed way up. One reviewer feared the sweet nose but found the mocha palate genuinely tasty. Best treated as an after-dinner pour.

Store visit Weinquelle Lühmann Hamburg April 2025. After the nose I was already afraid and thought here comes something really sweet again. On the palate, however, it's a really delicious rum that tastes of mocha and expresso.

World Liqueur Day! Failing to be at home sipping a Swell de Grandmont, I let myself be tempted by this liqueur. Clearly it's sweet and heavy, but the chocolate and coffee come through well: I'd see it with a touch of cognac and maybe some cream (and ice). Rather than dry.
