Beenleigh Rum Artesanal Australian Rum 2007
Anyone chasing bright stone fruit at full power should look here. It's a peach-and-apricot bomb — several tasters land on "peach iced tea" with jam, vanilla and herbs, plus a little glue and roasted wood underneath. The 67.5% is remarkably well tucked in, but give it 15-20 minutes; freshly poured it reads medicinal and closed before the fruit shows up.
The community says- Vivid yellow fruit
- Well-integrated alcohol

Aggregated from 87 community reviews.
Intense peach-apricot Aussie at cask strength Widely liked as a fruit-forward Beenleigh — apricot, peach and mirabelle with surprisingly tame alcohol. A few find it too herbal, dry or spirit-like, and it needs time to open.

With its 67.5% ABV, this representative from Down Under initially tingles a lot on the nose. After a bit of air, that settles down and the fruity notes of yellow stone fruits, slight glue, and minimal roasted aromas come through. On the palate, the yellow fruits continue, paired with a bit of tea, vanilla, and a pleasant sweetness. In the finish, you feel the high proof as a nice warmth, and the fruit stays nicely on the palate.

What a board! This is probably the most quaffable and at the same time the oldest Australian I have drunk so far... Incredibly intense after peach iced tea, apricot compote and mirabelle jam with vanilla, peach brandy in a wooden barrel (like the gölles I have), surprisingly little wood notes, some floral honey, jasmine tea, croissant with bitter orange jam and just extremely delicious and a surprisingly long finish. The alcohol content is also extremely well integrated.... In short: I'm just blown away by this Australian!😍 I really would not have expected!🐨 Am glad that I got me 2 bottles!

Very delicious australian🤤 Lovely taste of peaches like a mix of peaches icetea and rum 😜 In mouth reminds me also like biting in a fresh habanero chili 😬 The alcohol is integrated very well. In direct comparsion of beenleigh 2007 = RC > RA🥃

Today 5 Australians in the glass. 1st Rum Club 14 yr: light fruity, very present on the palate with a medium-long finish. 84 pts. 2nd Rom Deluxe no. 40 15yr: Already quite different from the first Rum Club. Much drier. Also very fruity, although the fruit here is rather dark berry. The finish is unfortunately a little mettalic. 85 pts. 3rd Rum Club no. 40 16 yr: Similar to the first Rum Club, only with more wood and much drier. Although not as dry as the Rom Deluxe. I don't think the alcohol is well integrated here. 80 pts. 4th RA 2007 15 yr: Very similar in profile to the first Rum Club due to its dominant light fruits. However, this rum is much more intense and complex. An absolute firework display on the palate! Apricot, mirabelle plum and peach in such an intense form is impressive. If the finish were a little longer, this would be a terrific rum. But very good as it is! 88 pts. 5th Ferroni 2013: Absolutely not comparable with its colleagues. Totally barrel-driven. Very intense on the palate with dark fruits, wet wood and leather. If you like rums with a very strong barrel influence, this is the perfect companion for an evening by the fire. I like it too. 81 pts. I love the concise dryness of the Rom Deluxe. A piece of desert in the mouth =D It also stands out somewhat from the others thanks to its dark fruit. The two RCs and the RA are the most comparable, although the RA is by far the best for me.

8,1:On the nose, the first impression we get is mostly medicinal with a glue and woody with roasted notes like nuts, leather, spicy. We get some faint yellow fruits with apricots, faint citrus. On aeration, the picture gets a little better with herbal, vegetal notes, chilli becomes quite strong, some confectionery with cookie dough...So, no drama... 8,4:On the palate, the attack is intense, especially with chilli and cucumber for a sec.The balance is sustained with yellow fruits like apricot, mirabelle plum, later peaches, an apple is in cooperation with. The wood spicy with baking spices, vanilla, salty, roasted with pastry, caramelized burnt sugar, honey. After resting the rum, the wood is more charred, syrupy and creamy, the molasses vegetal, herbaceous. 8,5:The finish is the most balanced, tasty, round, dry and a bit tannic, smoky, charred wood notes and delicious yellow fruits and some orange keep the rum in nice balance. Edit:27.6.25

Unfortunately, I have nothing more of the RumClub Ed. 20. So the Rum Cask 2007 (58.2%) must serve as a 'next of kin' for a comparison. At RA I first notice the high ABV on the nose. After 20 min, then come nice notes of yellow fruits, less as a fruit basket, rather boiled down or in jam form, plus cake, vanilla and the longer I wait, also clear herbal notes. The same fruits on the palate, but more candied, plus barrel and espresso, surprisingly sweet on the finish. I like the RA quite well, and clearly better than the Rum Cask!

Rum Artesanal is a radiant, rigorous rum. The nose is pleasantly fruity, with apple, apricot, citrus and pineapple. Spices (chili, pepper, vanilla, herbaceous notes) are fairly quiet, with a honeyed, caramelized sweetness in the background. Leather, glue and brandy add a little more character, but the alcohol is incredibly discreet. A pleasant, romanticized olfactory profile. The attack on the palate is powerful and warm, but remains highly aromatic, particularly on the fruit (apricot, peach, apple, pear, mirabelle plum, citrus). The spicy, caramelized flavors are quite delicious, counterbalancing the leather, glue, wood and full-bodied roasted notes. The alcohol is superbly well integrated, and the rum is very pleasant to drink. The finish is long, dry, even astringent, spicy, hot and smoky, but paradoxically still round, fruity and honeyed. The flavors follow on from the palate. A very nice Australian profile, easy-drinking and very good value for money.

I don't think I've ever had a rum with this peach note! Reminds me in taste very much of the Spirit of Rum Australia, which is similarly strong and spicy and impresses with this subtle chocolate note. I also got some grape here as well, which I didn't notice in the SoR until a blind tasting. Blind was there a similarity to some Armagnacs, which I would also sign here. What's new with the RA here is the aforementioned peach note, which surprised me but really picked me up. The 67.5% is clearly recognizable and present, no question, but still gives the whole strength and depth. Overall, a nice bottling from the house RA, after last but some failures were there.

Gefällt mir in Summe sehr gut.

This Beenleigh is surprising, not at all what I expected! Compared to the other RA from 2007, these are two completely different rums! My previous reference from Velier falls behind! A very pleasant fruity nose of mirabelle plum, apricot and light sweetness! On the palate it spreads creamy, starts with a sweetness of a honeycomb, then changes to fruity, whereby yellow fruits also predominate here, gradually a flavor of fruit, wax and light polish emerges! Very unusual, but definitely delicious! At the end, slightly spicy allspice comes through! Dee finish is relatively long...with a lasting heavy fruitiness! RA has managed a very good bottling! My new reference

Australien mal von einer anderen Seite… Angenehmer Geruch, fruchtig intensiv. Geschmack ist dann jedoch völlig anders. Ich schmecke Kaffee, Fass und leichte Bitterstoffe von Schokolade . Der Abgang ist lang und kräftig. ABV ist schön integriert. Mir ist die ganze Sache herb. Mag es lieber fruchtiger in der Regel.

A great Beenleigh. Amazingly fruity. Reminds me of a fruit basket of yellow fruits. Then on the palate it is woodier with light honey notes and very creamy. Finish lightly chili. A great product.

Alcohol could be better integrated. Overall interesting Australian with fulminant peach note.

Alkohol gut eingebunden.

Hardly distinguishable from the RC on the nose. Overall, however, quite closed and needs its time. A little "heavier" on the palate, more wood and darker fruits with a minimal alcoholic sharpness on the tongue. However, this is made up for by the very smooth mouthfeel. A top rum and in the first direct comparison of RC and RA 2007 I could not identify a winner.
Review by Chrischi78
Review by Righrum
More balanced than the previous RA release, but a bit sweeter and closer to some fruit spirit in a way. The nose is a bit closed while the mouth is flavorful, a bit of spices but mainly a lot of fruits, yellow fruits and agrumes. A bit too sweet for my palate, and that reduces a bit my score
Review by Skyfly
Alkohol gut eingebunden. Abgang sehr angenehm

Crass peach aromas. On the nose, maybe apple as well. Very spicy. Nice and toasty. One notices the 67.5% alc. I like but, also because of the great peach note, a lot better than the Rum Club Australian.
Review by Mirco

We at RumClub it is advisable to let some time pass On the nose here some glue and yellow fruit notes. On the palate then taste of apple and peach or somewhere in between. Compared to the RC the alcohol less perceptible and overall a bit sweeter. Both with different profiles. For me, however, the RC remains a bit ahead here

My favorite among the RA/RC Beenleigh bottlings. Great integrated alcohol, nicely balanced profile that is indeed somewhat reminiscent of peach iced tea with wood and spices.
Review by Jussi Piirainen
This was woody and medicinal on the nose when in opened it, so i decided to let it rest in the glass for a good 15 minutes before actually tasting it and it got way better... On the nose: Fruity notes like peaches and apricots are the main notes mixed with herbal notes. Under that there is vanilla and honey notes. I do get light pastry notes in there aswell. Balanced and good abv integration. Taste: Intense with somekind of chili burn note in it. Then it mellows down and you get fruit bomb like a mixture of peaches, apricot, honey and odd, but interesting spice notes that i dont recognice. Mouthfeel is creamy. Abv is integrated quite nicely for a this high abv rum Finish: Warm, spicy, woody and roasted notes. Peaches and apricot notes. Finishes dry. Long finish. I dont have much of tasting experience on Australian rums, especially on the aged rums, but now, this rum got me interested.

#5407 05.06.2025 Enjoying this nice sample while watching Out of Darkness on Max. Nose Fresh, light wood, fruits, light pear, light berries, light mint, light earthy, cinnamon. Palate Round, fresh, light wood, cinnamon, light apple, light earthy, oily, light mineral, faint roasted, light nutmeg. Finish Medium to long, fresh, light wood, light apple, light berries, mint, light tea, light citrus. Needs to rest for a while to really open up and then it's a great rum. Empty glass Light berries, light pear, light apple, cinnamon, mint.

Wundervolle Nase, dort perfekt eingebundener Alkohol, toll fruchtig insb. Kernobst und Zitrusfrüchte mit einer interessanten Süße. Am Gaumen dann Habanero Chili mit Pfirsich und einer ordentlichen Portion Gewürze. Sehr geiles Profil das richtig Spaß macht. Auch hier gut eingebundener Alkohol. Granate.

Unique note that I can't quite put my finger on. Good bottling. However, the Rum Club remains my reference and I like its profile better overall.

Phew, this rum is not for the faint-hearted. As someone else has already described it as trigeminal, I can only agree. There's a lot going on in the mouth. It's actually not that bad, but it's a little too alcoholic for me personally. Edit: I've left it on the terrace for a while now. It definitely needs time. Now it seems much rounder and more digestible. That's why I'm adjusting it upwards a little.
Review by Alexander Rasch
I really like it. The alcohol excellently integrated. The nose is also the highlight for me. Very nice fruity with that clear fruit jam association. Fun without being too demanding.
Review by ThreeH

Review by Antoine Lesieur
An interesting one. Some qualities but lacks some complexity and depth in the mouth. The nose is intriguing with lots of fresh and baked fruits, and tangy spice - yellow apple, pear, apricot jam, ginger and a hint of orange peel. Some oak but light and fresh, with some vanilla and light caramel and heavier spice developing over time - cloves especially. Some nutty notes too - hazelnut and walnut in particular. Alcohol is quite present on the nose but not overwhelming. Quite sharp on the palate, and overall quite fresh with lots of baked apple, reminiscent of a calvados. But overall a bit underwhelming on the palate. Some length but again not outstanding. It's the palate that lets it down slightly for me.

Barva: Jantar. Vůně: Poměrně silná, citrusy, pryskyřice, ovoce, znovu se lehce objevuje vůně pastelek, kůže. Chuť: Výrazná svíravost s nakyslostí citrusů, koření, čokoládové tóny. Odchod střední, dochuť čokoládových cukrovinek s přechodem do kořenitosti. Silnější hřejivost s kořenitou štiplavostí na jazyku.

Sehr guter Rum.
Review by Mihay Gonzalez
Predominant orange peel, citrusy notes but doesn't overpower the other subjacent flavors.

RumClub ed. 40 Australia 2007, 16y, 64,8% Vs. Rum Artesanal Australia 2007, 15y, 67,5% U těchto dvou bottlerů zřídka narazíte na nedobrý rum. A výjimkou nejsou ani tyhle dvě Austrálie.
