RA Jamaica Rum MRJB 1977
Sip this one slowly and neat — it's built for a quiet tasting glass, not a mixer. A 45-year-old Jamaican that trades funk for delicate notes of honey, caramel, milk chocolate, wood and a little tropical fruit, with a touch of mint. Lovely on the nose, but most tasters found it thin and short on the palate, gentler than the aromatic 1982 sibling.
The community says- Fine honey and chocolate
- Very little harsh wood
- Thin body

How does RA Jamaica Rum MRJB 1977 taste?
Aggregated from 17 community reviews.
Delicate, wood-and-honey Jamaican, thin body Delicate and genuinely enjoyable, but tasters agree the body is thin and the finish short — striking on paper, quieter in the glass than 45 years suggests.

Definitely more exciting than the 1982 MRJB. Beautiful combination of tropical fruits, some caramel and milk chocolate, a little bit of mint and surprisingly little wood for 45 years old. I like well but is me 1. overall still a bit too thin and 2. is the price of 700 € RRP for me not justified...

More restrained and less aromatic in direct comparison to its younger predecessor (1982 vintage). Some tropical fruit and wood influence - but everything very subdued. On the palate then quite astringent and spicy - but also quite thin. Definitely tasty and interesting - but with the impressive key data, the rum is then but clearly below the (high) expectations. Since I liked RX11744 better.

I'm sorry to say but this one was also kind of disappointing and thin/light like the previous one.
