The nose is really great, plenty of dark sugar, malt, licorice, and toasty aromas. The palate continues this, relatively dry and a bit bitter, with more herbal notes. Tobacco in the finish. The alcohol is very well integrated.

Hinweis: Tätigkeit bei Perola GmbH (Spirituosenbranche), teilweise berufliche Involvierung bei bewerteten Abfüllungen. Alle Bewertungen sind meine persönliche, unbezahlte Meinung. Endlich Mal ein vernünftiger & bezahlbarer Diamond Guyana Rum um den man sich nicht schlagen muss! Hier wird genau das Diamond Profil getroffen was ich so gerne mag und die 50% sind nicht zu dünn und nicht zu kräftig sondern sehr lecker und süffig! :) Geruchlich wie geschmacklich eine schöne Harmonie aus Zartbitter-Schokolade, Meersalz, kräftiger Melasse, Bananenbrot, Kaffee, Brombeeren und Trockenobst sowie ordentlich Gewürzen wie kandiertem Ingwer, Kardamom, Piment, Vanille und Muskat und dann etwas Tabak, Leder und Bitterorange im Abgang. 5% mehr Alkohol hätte er zwar noch vertragen können aber dann wäre er auch nochmal ein gutes Stück teurer geworden!😉 Es handelt sich hierbei übrigens um einen "small batch" aus 5 nahezu identischen Single cask diamonds die alle zwischen 64-67% hatten. PS: Macht sich hervorragend in diversen Tiki Cocktails wie dem Queens Park Swizzle!

Ich hatte mit dem Gedanken gespielt mir eine Flasche zu holen, das lass ich bleiben. Irgendwie haben all diese gefärbten oder im zu stark gekohlten Fass gelagerten Rums den gleichen,alles überdeckenden Grundgeschmack, sei es dieser hier,der Woods Navy, oder Dictador20 und was weiß ich noch wer. Schade drum, hatte mir mehr erhofft. 😥

Bellamy tasting. A rather dark rum with a nose of young wood, spices, raisins and burnt sugar, Sherry. Not a very well-balanced nose where flavors telescope. The palate is more balanced, soft, diluted, with tobacco and mocha, a vegetal side, leather and caramel. The finish is long, on the woody/bitter side, with a light salty and caramel note. The empty glass offers yet more fragrances. Excellent value for money.

Dark roasted Diamond profile on the nose. Lots of burnt sugar, dark chocolate and a hint of dried fruits. Same profile in the palate, yet smoother than the nose would like you to expect. Coffee, caramel, dark nougat and some maltiness. Very solid „coffee“ Diamond profile at a very accessible price. Also performs quite well in cocktails.

Recommended by Oliver at the 11th GRF as an introduction to Guyana. I wasn't very taken with it at the fair, but to be fair I think I still need something to warm up to Guyana. Now that I've tasted it at home, it's clear that I should have given it more time. I particularly like the finish, which develops from almost unpleasant salty-bitter notes to caramelized banana. It stays in the mouth for a long time. It's amazing how much the empty glass smells of PX sherry

Unerwartete Nase von diesem Rum von DDL. Sehr dunkel, würzig (Maggi?!), rauchig-röstig und floral, mit Zitrusfrüchten, aber die typischen Hauptaromen wie Karamell, Vanille und tropische Früchte empfinde ich eher im Hintergrund, wenn überhaupt. Liegt vielleicht auch daran, dass dieser nicht im Bourbon-Fass lag, sondern nur in einem alten Rumfass. Schöne Trinkstärke und guter Preis, leider holt mich das Profil an der Nase nicht zu 100% ab, im Mund dann eher mein Ding.

In der Nase verführerische sirupartige Melasse, am Gaumen aber dann eher Rost, wirkt trotz des kräftigen Alkoholeinschlags geschmacklich eigenartig flach und eindimensional, kaum Facetten. Fazit: Süffiger Daily Sipper mit bezirzender Nase und sehr gutem PLV, aber insgesamt nichts, was einen bleibenden Eindruck hinterlässt. Update 01.09.2022: Verkoste gerade im Rum Depot, Flasche wurde frisch geöffnet. Wenn man einen Guyana mit 100% überzeugendem PLV haben möchte, dann den. Es zeigt sich wieder mal, dass man mindestens 2x verkosten muss, um einigermaßen gut beurteilen zu können. Sehr gute 83 Punkte für diesen wirklich soliden Rum.

Wer das dunkle Guyana-Profil sucht und nicht zu viel Geld ausgeben möchte, wird hier fündig. Natürlich gibt es hier keine fein ziselierte Aromenlandschaft zu entdecken, wie es gerne mal bei lange gereiften Rums aus Guyana der Fall ist, sondern hier wird eher mit Wucht auf die Rezeptoren geklotzt. Zudem ist von Beginn an eine leicht schmutzige Note im Hintergrund vorhanden, die mitsamt der Mischung aus würzigen Walnüssen und Liebstöckel an den animalischen Duft eines Wildschweingeheges erinnert. Nicht unbedingt schön, aber durchaus interessant und charaktervoll. Macht Spaß!

Netter Diamond zu fairem Preis. Die Nase lässt erst Großes vermuten, dunkle Aromen mit gebranntem Zucker, Früchten und Schokolade. Am Gaumen steht erst einmal der Alkohol im Vordergrund, der durchaus kräftiger hätte sein dürfen - dann wäre mehr Bums und Geschmack dabei gewesen, aber eben auch teurer. So ist es ein fairer Einsteiger Rum in die spannende Welt der Guyana Rums!

After Barikenn 2012 PM another 2012 Demerara. Despite big differences, the nose also shows familiar notes: A hint of anise and the wet woodiness, something herbaceous are also my Demerara notes here. The leading notes, however, are burnt caramel, plus dried dates and raisins. The mouth is just as dark and roasty as the nose, with coffee, caramel and dried fruit. The finish is rather disappointingly short and without any new facets. It lacks depth and complexity and in my memory I liked the new El Dorado 15 a little better, perhaps a blend with some Rot Still Rum would have worked a small miracle here. A very commendable bottling, which is suitable for beginners as well as premium mixers due to its excellent PLV.

Very promising nose: raisin, allspice, wood barrel, caramel, tobacco. Almost reminds a little of old REVs! On the palate quite mild and sweet, towards caramel, dark chocolate. Unfortunately also a bit flat. If it were a bit more expressive on the palate, it would go well into the 80 rating. As it is, it only just takes it. Given the slightly more than 60 EUR that go over the counter, but a really good Guyana Sipper, perhaps even the best PLV of the year so far.

A soft mouthfeel with complex notes of dark berries, butter caramel, bitter orange and noble tobacco The aftertaste has a medium length and a slightly dry finish. A genuine Guyana rum, as you would expect and a round thing for everyone, regardless of whether you are a beginner or a connoisseur 👍

On aeration, the molasses is herbaceous, vegetal with celery, perhaps soy sauce, bitter orange is expressed, dark chocolate and malt notes. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is thick with charred wood notes like dark chocolate, burnt sugar, leather, confectionery, later mocha and caramel, spicy with vanilla, baking spices, then sulphurous and coppery, fruity with dried fruits like raisins and prunes, bitter orange, on oxidation also dried apricots join, as the molasses is dark with licorice, black tea, soy sauce, earthy with tobacco, slightly flowery. 8,2:The finish is long, dry and tannic, less charred, with all tasty tones from the palate, now with a pinch of salt, the fruits are candied, banana joins, the molasses is still dark and thick. Toller Rum, keine Frage. Auch das PLV ist für einen Diamond ok. Ich finde aber, dass er geschmacklich kaum besser ist als Woods Old Navy Rum RX3047. Da kostet ein Liter die Hälfte vom Bellamys. Die Flasche ist nicht so schön. Aber was soll’s. Trotzdem soll das das Lob für diese Abfüllung nicht schmälern. Eine Geschmacksbombe mit viel Malzbonbonaroma. Vielleicht kennt der eine oder andere die bayerischen Malzbonbons noch. Schöne Kindheitserinnerungen, mit 50% Aromaverstärker aufgepeppt. Sehr schön.

My first impression was a bit underwhelming, and I decided that I had just a bad day for the tasting. Second attempt proved that I was right, just gi e this one some air and it has a heavy fruity and sweet bouquet (a friend compared it to portwine). The taste keeps up, and makes this a solid sipping rum.

Nice young Guyanese rum! Here you can dive into the world of Guyanese rum without paying too much. Nose: Wonderful roasted aromas, dried fruits, licorice, wood and mocha. Palate: Very well balanced. Classic Guyanese notes paired, in my opinion, with the perfect alcohol strength. Finish: Medium-long. Reminiscent of a warm summer afternoon with a cigar and a good cup of coffee 😃

An der Nase viel Kräuteriges, etwas Lakritz/Anis, Röstaromen und Leder. Dazu kommt aber auch eine unangenehm muffige Note, die mir nicht so gut gefällt. Am Gaumen ähnlich wie an der Nase Kräuter, Leder, etwas Tabak, Karamell und röstige Aromen.

Ein für den Preis hervorragender Diamond aus Guyana. Er verbreitet Röstaromen, Schokolade und Kaffee. Geschmacklich zieht sich das durch, ergänzt um etwas Vanille. Er hätte gerne etwas unverdünnter sein können. Toller bezahlbarer Rum.

Im Auftakt schöne Demerara Noten, Verbranntes Karamell, dazu getrocknete Datteln und Rosinen. Der Mund ist ebenso dunkel und röstig wie die Nase, mit Kaffee, Karamell und Trockenfrüchten. Eine sehr lobenswerte Abfüllung, die sich aufgrund das spitzem PLVs sowohl für Einsteiger als Premium Mixer eignet.

Kleines Herzogenauracher Tasting in Flo‘s Keller: Huch, was ist das?! An sich, schöne dunkle Noten von Schokolade und Melasse, dazu Trockenfrüchte, dunkles Karamell, Holz und Gewürze. Könnte mir gefallen… Aber da ist die seltsame ölige Konsistenz, die auf den Lippen und der Zunge so etwas wie einen Fettfilm hinterlässt.

Dieser Bellamys hat mich tatsächlich positiv überrascht. Ich war ja schon lange auf der Suche nach einem Alternative Guyana für Rum-Einsteiger, abseits der ElDorado12 oder 15 Reihe, hiermit gefunden und für gut genug befunden. Cremig, bisschen Holz, bisschen Würze, leichte Kante durch die 50%, aber super integrierter Alkohol. Am Ende kommt sogar noch ein wenig Lakritze dazu, Und ein schön mittellanger Abgang. Ordentliche 8 Punkte.

Nase: würzig, röstig (Kaffee?) mit einer bitteren Note (ich vermute mal gebrannten Zucker). Dazu ein wenig Frucht. Geschmack: zuerst ein Mix aus Schokolade und gebranntem Zucker. Wieder würzig und röstig. Danach folgt eine leichte Kaffee/Mokka Note sowie etwas fruchtiges was ich nicht wirklich einordnen kann. Abgang: Mittel bis lang Das leere Glas riecht würzig und fruchtig. Ich nehme eine deutliche Rosinennote wahr. Zudem anschließend eine deutliche Tabaknote. PLV sehr gut Nach etwas Gewöhnung an dieses Profil gefällt er mir immer besser. Anfangs hat mir der gebrannte Zucker gar nicht gefallen, mittlerweile mag ich diese würzig, röstig, bittere Kombination echt gerne.

Messeverkostung, daher knapper: Guyana ist recht neu für mich, dementsprechend ist das hier direkt ein sehr spannender Kracher. Sehr runde Mischung aus Frucht und Würze, viel Melasse und röstigen Gewürzen. In der Nase noch fruchtiger, am Gaumen dunkler und komplex. Schön wie sich bei jedem Schluck die Nuancen ändern und immer neue Schichten durchkommen. Der wird auf jeden Fall noch in groß geordert und ausführlicher betrachtet. Nachtrag 1: Mit Zeit dafür wird's nur besser. Salzig, Karamell, unglaublich smooth und im Mundgefühl für seine Preisklasse für mich bisher ungeschlagen.

Schöne dunkle Guyana Noten mit Dörrobst, Röstaromen und Moka. Viel Fasseinfluss. Der Alkohol ist am Gaume merkbar aber nicht störend. Wer das Profil mag bekommt hier ein schönen Sipper für relativ wenig Geld. Doe Flasche ist super Wertig. Gefällt mir.
