Here's the surprise: this is an agricole, but a gentle, almost whisky-tinged one rather than the grassy punch you might brace for. Vanilla, caramel and toasted pastry lead, with a light body and short, sweetish finish. Contrairement à Soren, c'est une erreur de déguster une unique fois. Distillé en 2021. Bouteille qui vieillit très bien Un modèle de digestabilité et de fraîcheur ! Ce rhum se développe au fur et à mesure des dégustations. Le côté très vegetal d'origine se part d'arômes très net de superbe vanille, de fruits jaunes (mirabelle, prune) , tendant vers l'exotique. Un côté très frais en bouche, presque reglissé, marjolaine apporte profondeur, finesse et equilibre. Le tout avec une texture franche, salivante et une belle longueur (sans être extraordinaire). C'est un rhum toute en finesse, en fraîcheur, sans côté démonstratif et diable que c'est agréable !

Una bevuta non impegnativa, di discreta qualità. A tratti mi ha ricordato Saint James Coeur de Chauffe, sia al naso che al palato. Rispetto al Saint James però è più piatto e non si evolve durante la bevuta. Questo Papa Rouyo è una bevuta che consiglierei anche a chi si sta avvicinando al mondo del rum.

Trop réduit, pas mal mais un peu ennuyant. Il n’y a rien qui cloche mais il n’y a rien de passionnant non plus. Un peu terreux, notes agricoles très standard. Je suis un peu perplexe parce que il n’y a pas beaucoup à dire ici. Juste…ok.

Sometimes you try something and you just think, OK, been there, done that and no more. This rum is one of those and I think this is a good beginners rum. The nose is fruity with pastries, floral, caramel, vanilla and nuts trailed by coffee and light barrel notes. The palate is sweet, light and fruity with spices, floral and caramel as well as a light toasted note. The finish is short to medium, sweet but diluted with dried fruit and vanilla.
