One taster called the palate a "würzbombe" of spice over oily sweetness. It's heavy and intense — a couple of members admit it tips slightly too intense — but the 58.1% is remarkably well integrated for 29 years.

Grossartiger kontinentaler Enmore. Lakritz, Leder, knackiges Holz, Piment, Anis, dezente Süsse von getrockneten Früchten und Karamell formen ein Geschmacksprofil, das auch im Direktvergleich mit den anderen Top-Releases Enmores aus 1992 absolut zu begeistern weiss. Ein Hochgenuss.

What a rum! Very similar to the Flensburg, a little rounder. MEC is really undervalued for me....

I had rather lost interest in MEC since the TRC from 88. That was okay, but overall nothing special in my opinion. So I'm all the more surprised here, because I'm 100% taken with it! It needs time on the nose. Sweet associations come first, dried dates, raisins, caramel, brown sugar, followed by a nice and solid spiciness such as licorice, wet old wood, aniseed, tobacco. However, it doesn't have much staying power here and the intensity could be a little stronger. It then explodes in the mouth and is a real spice bomb. Paired with an almost continuous oily sweetness, combined with wet wood and spice, it's simply awesome. The rum is incredibly round, delicious and has hardly any bitterness. A very good alternative to old PMs

9:On the nose, roasted, charred wood notes, strong barrel impact, with leather, dark chocolate, caramelized Demerara sugar, coffee, malt, dried fruits like prunes, tropical with coconut, some plastic and spices, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, the rum opens wide open with various new fruits like cherry, raisins, dried dates, figs and citrus fruits, the molasses brings tobacco, black tea, licorice and flowery touch, some roasted nuts also pop out...very round, balanced impression. 9:On the palate, the attack is heavy, intense, but delicious and balanced, sandal wood immediately attacks our tasting buds, barrel impact is strong with roasted wood notes like dark chocolate, leather, coffee, roasted nuts, Demerara sugar in tarragon cake, delicious, spicy with anise,..the fruits are mostly dried with prunes, raisins and dates, as the molasses is dark with black tea, licorice, earthy with tobacco, slightly herbaceous and vegetal with thyme, we might notice some camphor. 8,9:The finish is long, dry&tannic, heavy, winterly, spicy with pepper, anise, oaky, the roastedness is strong, notes caramelized, the molasses is thick, dark, earthy, the fruits still dried... wonderful tarragon is still in neighborhood. Deep dark Guyana notes on the nose. A nice mélange of wood, cacao, mokka, tobacco as well as dried red fruits and menthol notes, all working elegantly together. Similar sensation on the palate: rich and dark. Wood, liquorice, dried fruits, espresso, creamy choclate and deep dark caramel. Excellent.

Un Enmore de grande classe. Le nez est particulièrement concentré et sombre sur les fruits secs, la réglisse, le café, le chocolat noir, le cuir, les épices (anis, poivre, vanille) et les notes rôties. La fraîcheur des notes d’herbes aromatiques (thé, thym), de fleurs et de tabac est très appréciable et contrebalance le boisé sombre. L’attaque en bouche est extrêmement ronde et savoureuse. Le côté noble ressort avec un boisé délicat mais aromatique, soutenu par le thé noir, le thym et des notes florales. Une myriade d’épices se joint au cuir, au café et au chocolat noir pour former un profil sombre mais très gourmand, agrémenter par les fruits secs (pruneaux, raisins), le toffee et le cola. L’alcool est parfaitement intégré. La finale est longue, subtile et très douce. Les épices chaleureuses se joignent aux notes boisées, au cuir, au chocolat noir et aux notes rôties et maltées pour faire face aux arômes plus floraux, herbacés et fruités dans une délicieuse bataille en fin de bouche. Un superbe Enmore qui propose une expérience gustative hors du commun.

This is a super well made demerara all the way up there with the greatest. A bottle hard to get so the price has gone through the roof recently. The nose is well balanced with tobacco, fruit, roasted wood, leather and light camphor notes. The palate is both intense, complex and very well balanced and absolutely wonderful. I find sweetness, herbs, tobacco and roasted wood from the start followed by dried fruit, leather, chocolate and light coffee notes. The finish is equally wonderful with wood, tobacco, leather and molasses. Leave the empty glass for a few hours and then whif it again and you'll get bombarded with flavours.

I can't detect any fruit on the nose... even after some time in the glass... not a trace, but a dark (but not unpleasant) astringency... which persists on the palate! The whole thing is very intense and heavy... a little too intense for me... nevertheless a very good rum

Very tasty Enmore. Leathery, malt, licorice, tobacco and cask. Floral, slightly lilac. Tobacco oil, coconut, cocoa, yellow fruits. Heavy sweetness, deep aromas and perfect alcohol integration.

.. Enmore - drive still, now just a working still. Apparently the only wooden still in the world that enjoys great popularity. The Enmore rums have a flavour of ash, leather, heavy wood, which will delight especially the lovers of whiskey. And if in the traditional Guyanese way the producer adds a little molasses to the rum, you have a unique very distinctive and heavy rum in the bottle. One of my favourites.

Un nez très Enmore avec beaucoup de bois, des fruits secs au second plan, du cuir et une sorte de tabac fermenté qui n’est pas pour me déplaire. Un nez malgré tout équilibré par le côté végétal. L’entrée de bouche est ample, riche avec toujours beaucoup de bois, mais comme au nez avec une belle fraîcheur. Une très belle finale qui met tout le monde d’accord. Toujours très boisée avec pas mal de fumée froide mais toujours cet équilibre apporté par le côté végétal. Indiscutablement une très belle sélection de fût ici, gourmande et équilibrée.

Oily and black in the glass. Very, very leathery. Insanely full and warm. Malt, liquorice, oak and lots of dried fruit. Spice bazaar. Alcohol well integrated, not very complex. It smelled like this in the Queen's RR when it was new. Super and beautiful. In the mouth then in the same track, now the alcohol stings a little, but not unpleasant. Liquid licorice, leather and oak on the finish. A heavy, round Demerara that drinks well despite the long time in the barrel.

First impression on the nose: amazing how restrained it is. It's not dominated by dried fruit like the KFM, but rather tobacco and leather. I would describe the subtle sweetness as going in the direction of fig. This is joined by something sour and chemical (iodine?). The palate is very tobacco-oriented, with leather, liquorice and dark chocolate, which continues in the finish. continues in the finish. I really like it!

Wunderschöner super intensiver 92er Enmore mit einer tollen floralen und würzigen Note. Super langer öliger Abgang. Extrem aromatisch und top ausbalanciert. Grandiose Nummer! In Sachen 1992 für mich einer der besten Enmores bis jetzt.

Fantastic bottling - lots of dried fruit, wood, cask, dark chocolate, some tobacco and very dominant leather. Even better on the palate than on the nose, the finish is also a real dream. I'll probably have to think about a whole bottle again

After two 94 REVs this one feels like a nice delicate dessert, an excellent one. On the nose there's some banana, caramel, coffee. On palate some tobacco, dried fruit, more caramel and coffee, leather. Finish not too long. Alcohol very well integrated. Thank you Dr Django for sharing the sample!

Těžký olejovitý kousek plný dřeva, kávy a čokolády. Jsou věci, kterým staření na kontinentu neublíží, a toto je jedna z nich. Opravdu krásný těžký enmore. Dlouhý závěr nabidne navíc dávku sušeného ovoce.

Wow! Der 2. aus der GAOP Serie den ich im Glas habe. Nach dem Foursquare von gestern ist das eine Wucht in der Nase. Holz, Leder, Würze, leichte minzigkeit und subtile Fruchtnoten a la Kirschen und Beeren. Nach längerer Zeit im Glas bekommt man sogar Mokka Noten in der Nase. Der Alkohol ist super integriert und die Nase lässt erahnen dass es am Gaumen spannend weiter geht. Und das bewahrheitet sich! Wie geröstete und mit Schokolade überzogene Bittermandeln kommt er daher, ölig auf der Zunge breitet sich eine leicht bittere Süße aus ohne je säuerlich zu werden. Das ganze kommt einher mit schönen Teenoten, die ihresgleichen suchen. Der Abgang ist ewig lang und gefühlt hat man eine mit dunkler Scholoade überzogene Grapefruit. Das ist genau mein Geschmack! Chapeau!

Imagine sitting in the dirtiest harbour pub in Georgetown Guyana, back in the 18th Century. All on smoldering cuban tobacco leaves, camphor oil, pipes, dirty boots and old leather chairs. But also delicate and floral notes of fried coconut oil and lilac of that Creole meal on the plate in front of you. Palate Sweet, barrel heavy and herbal, the first sip conquers the palate like a galleon and takes no prisoners. The tobacco and earthiness just rage, but without exaggerating and without losing tie to that sweetness. Meaning, what's so lovely is the tyipcal Versailles coffee bitterness and austerity, but without being too extreme.

A decent 1992 Guyana rum. This has the aromas I was desperately wanting in the hornigold, tobacco, cask oak and spice. This is really hinting about what was excellent in the 70s and 80s. Try it in a cocktail.
