Corman Collins Navy Full Proof Small Batch 2021
"A nice sipper," as one Aussie member put it — a navy-style blend of Jamaica, Guyana and Caroni where the Jamaican fruit and spice lead. Expect orange, cream toffee, banana and a bit of smoke, with an alcoholic bite that softens once you give it air. Several tasters found it a touch thin and the ABV not fully integrated.

How does Corman Collins Navy Full Proof Small Batch 2021 taste?
Aggregated from 39 community reviews.
Spicy navy blend, needs air to open A decent navy blend most people enjoy but few adore. The Jamaican notes dominate, the finish runs short, and the alcohol needs time in the glass to settle down.

A magnum opened for a special occasion and drunk first with Cuba Libre, then on its own. A complex, broad nose in which all three origins are recognizable. But even though they make up half the blend, Guyana and Caroni are dominated by Jamaica on the nose. A light tar, smokiness and a dark edge are nonetheless evident. The mix with Coca-Cola is splendid, tasty, generous and alcoholic. Pure, Jamaica dominates the palate too, even if the chosen rum is "Low Esters". Guyana gives this rum a patina, and Caroni is only really evident in the finish. A finish that's a little short, strangely enough, and takes points away from it.

A navy that's exactly what you'd expect from this style of rum. Multiple aromas. The influence of each origin is palpable. The alcohol content is top-notch for me. I like it a lot and find it unfairly shunned. Glad I could find a bottle.

An enjoyable navy style blend, quite forward on the jamaican notes.... don't ask me what distillery! 😄 fruits and spice are dominant, creamy, I reckon this rum benefits from time in the glass, oxygen is it's friend. Short finish. A nice sipper. It was available in a 1.5L magnum of which I managed to get.

Very well made blend! In my opinion, something Worthy Park dominates. But not cheap!

#4802 28.07.2024 Enjoying a few samples while watching the new Godzilla movie. Nose Fresh, balanced, light coconut, faint prunes, spice, light wood, faint smoke, anise. Palate Light oily, wood, light roasted, faint smoke, light caramel, orange, light coconut, faint chocolate, faint licorice. Finish Medium to long, wood, faint smoke, faint earthy, fruits, spice, faint citrus. The empty glass has stronger licorice, raisin and some chocolate Extra note. Needs to rest for a good while for the ABV to settle properly.

You can taste the different origins of this blend. It's not uninteresting, greedy and spicy, but not worth the price. With oxidation, the alcoholiness dissipates: it becomes much more pleasant. Tried it with dark chocolate. Doesn't go well with ... Try again in another context.

Quite fruity for a navy rum. Orange on the nose, but also cream/yoghurt. Spicy and peppery on the palate. The alcohol could be better integrated. Not a disappointment, but still a long way from the BlackTot 50 or my reference among the 'standard navy rums', the Velier Very Old Navy.

Reminds me quite a bit of the Smith & Cross I drank yesterday, but with a navy touch.

Worthy Park, you say..? 🤔 would have guessed Clarendon from the nose tbh 🤔 Nose is nice. On the palate the blend components seem to somewhat cancel each other out and it feels a little thin while it delivers a rather alcoholic bite.

Jamaica notes are dominant. A bit thin in the mouth for me. Better with bigger sips. ;)

An average Navy Rum that brings something of fermented tropical fruits as in some HD Rum, but the whole served with a lot of cream and quite alcoholic in taste. The fruit bouquet is somewhat reminiscent of Worthy Park.
