S.B.S Jamaica 2014 Bourbon and Brandy Matured 2013
Don't expect the usual Jamaican funk here — the brandy cask does most of the talking. Expect lots of wood, some dried fruit, a little leather and a peppery, slightly bitter finish. Fans of the brandy influence call it an unusual, easy Jamaican; others feel the barrel buries the distillery character. Likely a Worthy Park heart under all that oak.

Belle gourmandise, le fût brandy prend beaucoup de place et c'est très agréable. Jamaicain très facile à boire qui sort de l'ordinaire pour cette destination.

Imbalanced. Unfortunately no real Jamaica taste - the cask dominates

Much wood in the nose. Some flowers ,( Worthy Park!) in the nose too. More tropical fruits in taste. Interesting. Good cask management because this brings out the typical WP taste but the wood is well infused.

Finally some time to reflect on our tasting with romhatten.dk on Friday. Brought out the sample bottles to see if I could pick up some hidden notes 😊 Sad that they watered this one down because I think at CS it would have been a much better rum. There is a light floral note that I really like. A light yet well rounded profile and I think this could be an entry rum for beginners os Jamaica rums.

A very easy to drink nice flavors price quality 👍

Si sentono le note del bourbon e del brandy dovute all'invecchiamento, con note fruttate e un pizzico d'agrume/pepe

Lovely smooth sipper, although does make me think what it would taste like at 55%. The nose reminded me of bubble gum and candied fruit. The body is a bit plain, feels like a fleeting taste of sweetness, wood and ends with a peppery finish.

Holzig, fruchtig und ein Hauch vom Bourbon. Gefällt mir gut, ein typischer Jamaicaner.
Review by BlackTotDay
Viel Holz mit Frucht im Hintergrund. Pur unspektakulär aufgrund der Holzigkeit, auch wenn der Alkohol gut eingebunden ist. Passt gut in den Bella Donna Daiquiri

I found this rum very unspectacular, unbalanced rum. It has some nice notes of wood and dried fruits. On the palate you can easily notice the brandy barrel. The alcohol isn’t integrated well. The finish is quite short and overwhelmed by barrel notes.
Review by Henry Davies
It’s a fairly wild nose, some burn and ethanol alongside earth and leather. I struggle to understand the other scores, it’s a fairly one dimensional run for my tastes and lacks in a lot of ways. Taste is all dark chocolate with an edge of bitterness and a thin and non discript finish. It really just doesn’t work for me, too much burn and bitterness without any integration
