Beautiful St.Lucia Pot Still, but for higher consecrations lacks some complexity and a long finish.

I already knew the Evanius Harris, a sister cask from also 100% Vendome Still. I struggled with this one for a long time. And from my memory, similar receptors jump out at me: Lots of wood and herbal spiciness, some citrus, and then something like dried mango and other tropical fruits. As with the Evanius, I find the alcohol to be poorly integrated and together with a present acidity to be unpleasantly sharp. The combination of herbaceousness, smoky wood and fruit make for a very interesting profile. The fruit is unfortunately lost too much in the mouth.Unlike the dirty TDLs, the herbs lack the fresh menthol kick. This leaves the rum a bit unbalanced woody.Still not a bad St. Lucia rum. On day 2, I like it a little better.

I like how this one tastes but it's just a bit too strong imo. The alcohol should have been better integrated.
