Saint James Rhum Saint James

Grape-like, winey fruit on the nose is what most tasters latch onto — one calls it reminiscent of a fruity, heavy wine — with light charred oak and a floral edge behind it. The palate is where opinions part: soft and easy for some, thin and short for others, with a peppery bite on the finish that runs sharp for a 45% agricole. A light, older-style Martinique sipper more than a grassy powerhouse.

Winey nose, thin peppery agricole palate Lovely nose, divisive palate — several find it thin and oddly peppery, and light on the grassy agricole character you'd expect. More historical curiosity than everyday pour.

Tasting from 1992 with the following notes. Beautiful colour and nose. Well rounded, light and fruity with spices and sweet touch to the palate.
