Maybe the sample wasn't the right one because I'm not getting much px here. It is very enjoyable though (my surroundings help much). Overal it's a subtly and lightly flavoured yet greatly balanced. Some cigar/cognac-esque flavours. Coffee/mocha. Bay leaf. Very good. Love it.

It's Advent, there's charcoal on the grill, I'm sitting in a pine forest, I'm holding marshmallows over the grill. This scenery describes the smell very well. There's plenty of dried fruit to go along with it. On the finish I have something smoky and cigar. The sherry finish is present, but does not dominate in my opinion.

PX finish and 2000 WIRD does work well overall. However I do prefer the plain, unaltered versions of this rum.

I think that the flaw in this rum is the ABV if it would have been higher I'm pretty sure this would be a great rum. The Baja profile is there and so is the PX cask finish. I do like the smoky wood on the profile and the rubber note is kind of nice too.

The nose is very atypical of our landmarks of Barbados and its greediness! Here it is Dried fruits/Toasted/Marshmallow The mouth is creamy and pulls on the woody, smoky and like a touch of olive. The finish is on peppery chocolate/cigar. The Sherry finish is only slightly present. Blind, impossible to think of La Barbades. Very specific tasting rum and less rum of greed.
