La Palma Distillers Constellation’s Rum Polaris
Sipped neat, this one fights you: a decent nose of caramel, vanilla, raisin and burnt sugar promises more than the glass gives, because at 48% the alcohol tends to steamroll everything. Several tasters found it thin and "excessively diluted," with wood and a hot, short finish where flavor should linger. Some catch nut and coffee if they hunt for it; most just call it ordinary.

Lecker. Gut in der Nase. Geschmacklich auch nett.
Review by Skyfly

Sharp, spicy and nothing really special. It is quite ordinary rum. Less sweet and less prominent in taste. But ok. Pretty spicy in the taste.

Review by Necron
Impressively strong smell and taste. The alcohol overpowered almost all of the flavours. It is essentially sweet but with a spicy kick to it. Honestly a very odd sensation while drinking it and the overall experience lasts quite a bit.

It’s so bland that it’s really hard to detect the tastes at all and not even the rather high ABV shines through, but when trying hard it’s the sweetness and fruitiness that’s detected. Really nothing to write home about.

This is a frustrating rum. It has a quite good nose with very clearly identifiable notes of raisin, not bad at all. The very first taste is also good, nice and clear caramel, very good. Then the bad news, the strong alcohol burn completely erases any aftertaste and you are left feeling dropped off a really disappointing cliff after a promising start. This is a 30 year old by the solera system playbook (which is VERY different from a highly aged single barrel for instance) and it does have some good flavor potential, but the burn just torches any further development of flavor beyond the decent but far too quick first taste. A shame really. The high ABV was probably a mistake for this one.

Caramel, fruity and earthy nose. The taste is strong and short with vanilla, spice and nuts flavors. Almost no tail. Well, even though this rum is not perfect, I love Tenerife and everything connected with it. I can imagine to drink this rum on Playa de la Tejita or on the top of Teide and that would definitely boost the rating. ;)

Review by kudzey
The aroma and taste eye extremely low intensity. This rum is excessively diluted and seems sweetened to me, at least a little. I'm general, wood dominates the profile and it offers no real complexity.
