Savanna The Wild Island Edition - Arbre 2012
Sipped neat, this Savanna agricole leans hard into its cognac cask: green apple, pear, grapes and honey up front, then a dry, tannic, slightly bitter woody core. Several tasters call it round and coherent but a touch flat — the cask and cognac notes swallow the cane, and the 52.3% alcohol isn't always fully knit in. Pleasant, just not the wildest Savanna.
The community says- Round orchard fruit
- Cognac cask character
- Lacks complexity

How does Savanna The Wild Island Edition - Arbre 2012 taste?
Aggregated from 42 community reviews.
Cognac-cask agricole, round but a bit linear Well-liked but often called linear. Fans enjoy the round cognac-and-orchard-fruit profile; critics find it dry, a bit young-tasting, and short on the complexity Savanna can hit.

The wood is slightly too intense here for me.

02-09.04.2022 This was crazy week, where some friends and I rented a nice summerhouse on Rømø. The plan was to go nuts for a whole week with different rums without going overboard. The final agreement came to 6 rums a day and then enjoy nice walks or ferry rides during the day. Day 2 Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Fresh, light wood, roasted, citrus, sweet, light apple. Palate Round, fresh, raisin, light apple, light wood, light roasted, medium dry, faint tannins. Finish Medium long, round, wood, light tannins, citrus, light apple, faint honey. Extra note. Light and ABV pretty well integrated.

Ganz leckerer, runder Agricole!

Solid rum, but overall not expressive enough for me. I like it thanks to its well-rounded profile - but that's also where the criticism begins, because unfortunately I find the moments of tension and complexity a little lacking here - a "problem" that I often encounter with Savanna's Traditionelles. But this is also not my subjectively preferred rum style.

There is something really strange in the taste.. Wtf is that? Tolik ovoce v nekolika malo kapkach tekutiny jste dlouho necitili.
Review by Righrum
Clearly an agricole Savanna, dominated by unripe granny smith apple both in the nose and palate. When approaching there is a smoky/plastic note that developes soon into unripe apple, moving from nose to palate
