A sweet creamy nose right off the bat, sliding to notes of baking spice and suggestions of the Zinfandel cask. On the palate, mildly creamy body with natural sweetness; banana, spice, and wine barrel notes. Lingering warm finish with hints of oak and dried fruits.

Very nice sipping foursquare. The zinfandel red wine barrel brings nice notes of red fruits, cinnamon and tannins and harmonizes very well. Yummy! Could only have a tad more steam...But probably the best what was foursquare rums so far in zinfandel casks gefinished!I like surprisingly well! It does not always have to be barrel strength ...

Overall a much lighter Foursquare than usual that could be a good start to explore their ECS series. We were some friends teaming up at Cane Rum Society in Stockholm to celebrate Foursquare Appreciation Day. We started up with tasting of the four different ones seen at the added photo under lead of the Swedish importer Lars Renbjer. First out was the Touchstone which I have reviewed earlier and rated at 8,8. Next out was the Indelible (ECS XVIII) which is a blend of 11 year old molasses rums distilled in pot- & column stills and aged on site in ex-Bourbon and ex-Zinfandel Casks. The nose and palate is light, would even say weak for an Foursquare. Had to warm it up a little to recognize the aromas and tastes. 24.10.2025 Finishing my sample and I find it pretty OK. Have a few bottles on the shelf just in case 😅 ---------- A nice release and almost up to par with its predecessors. Very fruity with chocolate and vanilla. Brown sugar can also be found in the back. Medium long finish with a light touch of wood.

8,5:On the, the first impression is nose light and fruity with all Bajan characteristics, peaches and barely ripe exotic fruits, with very beautiful passion fruit, butterscotch, sweet spices, where cinnamon is strong, toasted coconut and wood. On aeration, spices are a bit stronger, there is wood and creamy nuts with dried fruits, bourbon notes come out. 8,2:On the palate, the first attack is with toasted oak, coconut, banana, some caramel, a bit roasted. They mingle with spices as cinnamon and vanilla. It is rather dry and light, a bit salty, rhe yellow bourbon fruits are buttery and light. 8,4:The finish is long, woody and dry with bourbon yellow fruits, orange peel and butterscotch, vanilla...

For a titration at 48% like Doorly's 14 years old but with 3 years less aging, this Foursquare Indelible does not offer a clear difference. On the nose as on the palate, we find the same notes of dried fruits, vanilla and spices. The Zinfandel adds notes of wine and prunes that give roundness, but it is not enough to provoke ecstasy. The finish is moderately long and fairly linear, falling short of expectations. While not bad, this rum could have been better with more aging and a higher alcohol content.

Unlike the previous Zinfandel, I can hardly taste the finish here. The Indelible is more on the spicy side and not as thin as the predecessor. Ideally, I would want the previous Zinfandel with the power of the Indelible.

not particularly present on the nose, what comes next goes towards vanilla, caramel, cherry wood. On the palate similar notes, especially caramel. The finish is short. One can describe it benevolentlyas round, but ratherlicherweise for me a FS that does not leave a particularly lasting impression. Then rather at a more moderate price the Doorly's 14.

Like most Foursquare stuff this is a good drink. It has a lot of complexity but somehow feels quite flat for some reason. I’m a bit disappointed with this bottle as I bought it with a markup without realizing it has only 48abv. I wouldn’t recommend this bottle even at msrp.

Wenn man mit einer gedämpften Erwartung an diesen Rum rangeht (niedriges ABV..), wird man umso mehr positiv überrascht. Rote Früchte und Gewürze (Zimt!) dominieren bei diesem Rum. Dazu Schokolade, Vanille, Holz. Durchaus rund und lecker. Ein paar Prozent mehr wären ganz gut gewesen.

The 48% unfortunately seems somewhat tamed - what remains is a primarily spicy-smoky rum with hints of fresh and dried red fruits and the classic melange of oak, vanilla, caramel and light minerality. Not a bad rum, but in my opinion only conditionally convincing and just in view of the large amount of other, very comparable Foursquares simply no more than average.

Woody on the nose and palate. A comforting rum after a good day's work, with autumn coming on and the cold too... I can see it with a fire in the fireplace and snow falling outside! Suitable for all types of connoisseurs

Nice nose really reminding the Foursquare markers. In mouth it's not so good, it's bitter and we lose the greediness of the nose. Very short finish. Disappointment on this FS.

Le nez nous emmène tout de suite sur les marqueurs typiques de la Barbade et de Foursquare en particulier. A savoir une vanille très présente sur fond de caramel mou gourmand. Un léger boisé des plus racé est présent, nappé d'un vernis là encore assez caractéristique, mais très discret. Ce nez est très marqué par un fond de fruits confits, des abricots, un peu de prune. Il y a aussi un côté gourmand et patissier de frangipane et de chocolat au lait en second nez. Les 48° degrés sont là, mais bien intégrés. La bouche est sèche, ronde, envahie par la coco et ce chocolat au lait encore très présent. Il y a un fond de raisin sec et de cannelle qui abreuve le côté très gourmand de ce rhum. La finale est longue, un peu mentholée, et le chêne revient nous hanter un bon moment de sa noblesse avec une pointe d'amertume. J'ai passé un excellent moment avec ce rhum et je ne peux que le conseiller à ceux qui veulent changer du rhum agricole sans s'aventurer trop loin de leurs repères.

Very different than the Zinfandel. More modern Foursquare and thus more in line as their recent outputs (it is possible you're a bit bored by that). Less wine/fruity more dry and full of spices. Glue. More burn (more abv 43 vs 48%). I sort of like em both but find the old Zinfandel a bit more interesting because it is different...if only that one was 48%. Cool juice still. The fans will love it.

Edit: Nachdem ich nun einige Foursquare Abfüllungen mehr probiert habe, muss ich diesen leider nach unten korrigieren. Für mich die schwächste Abfüllung aus dieser Reihe. Schade eigentlich, weil ich sonst immer sehr angetan war von dieses ECS. Auch hier wieder das typische Foursquare Profil, das ich mag, aber ein paar Prozente hätten ihn vielleicht besser getan. Für mich auch ein sehr guter Daily für zwischendurch.

Sehr schöner Tropfen aus dem Hause Foursquare. Der Einfluss aus dem Rotweinfass ist gut spürbar, überdeckt den Rum jedoch nicht. Dürfte etwas kraftvoller im Körper sein. Im Aroma klassische Fassaromen wie Vanille, Gewürze oder Schokolade, gepaart mit getrckneten Fruchtaromen.

Light, shallow, summer. Hazelnut and sweetness. Not a great, complex hammer, but simple sipping rum. Whether this justifies the prices and especially the stress of sourcing.... I am unsure.

Everything from Foursquare is synonym of quality and this one is not an exception. On the nose lots of berries and the typical caramel that I always get with Foursquare. On the palate the the caramel is there as also some dark chocolate and cherries

30/01/2026: tasting at home. I like the flavours that are presented together with the zinfandel influence, but it lacks some punch. For this reason it feels somewhat thin on the palate. Really drinkable though. Not sure if it's worth the extra price compared to the Doorly's 14.

Softer and smoother than the 2011 12-year or the Covenant. This is like sweet fruit--very pleasant but not as complex as those two, which I just had in a flight. Doesn't stand significantly better than the much more affordable Doorlys, so while this is very good, I'm glad I didn't buy a whole bottle. Mango and some grapes, though the wine vibe is very subtle. Golden copper pour. A hint of spice in the finish. Foursquare flight at Green Zone. Great entry for my 100th rating.

Huh? What happened there? Watered down, thin, bitter... a good but not very good rum, and definitely not what I expected from FS otherwise. The first FS that has disappointed me, and there even very much, but maybe I just did not understand him. Let me gladly enlighten what the artist wanted to aim here :)

My first ECS, coming back to it to compare Nose : Less complex than usual, very straightforward, coconut, some wood some spices, nothing pops out of the mix Taste : thinner than I like, low ABV helps for sure for sippability, all the Foursquare tracers are here Finale : short, wood bitterness, vanilla I'm happy this was my first ECS, I would have been disappointed tasting it after others, in line with a doorly's 12/14 for me

Tasting notes Nosing As soon as I cracked the sample the room was filled with the delightful smells of barbados . Butter and macadamia nuts dominate my nose initially strong oak smell which I don't mind given the quality of the rum .. I get a faint cherry nose after letting it settle for a while ... Tasting Wow on the intial tasting the oak is prominent and then is smashed with fruity notes from the zinfandel finish ...

I've really enjoyed this and I hope I can find another.......sadly unlike its name its been rather easily removed from most retailers........
