Savanna Plantation La Réunion (Sélection exclusive V&B) 2005
Best sipped neat with a drop of water to tame the 62.5% heat. This 16-year Savanna agricole leans woody and dry, with tropical fruit, dark chocolate, salted caramel and a menthol streak on the finish. A few tasters caught glue and overripe strawberry too. Rounder than most Savannas thanks to the bourbon cask, but several found it tannin-heavy and a touch too dry.
The community says- Rich wood and spice
- Tropical fruit depth
- Very dry

How does Savanna Plantation La Réunion (Sélection exclusive V&B) 2005 taste?
Aggregated from 21 community reviews.
Woody, dry cask-strength agricole with menthol A characterful cask-strength Savanna most rate around 8/10 — plenty of wood, spice and menthol. The catch: several found it too dry, oaky and astringent for a Savanna.

Pas l’impression d’avoir un Savanna en bouche, beaucoup de rondeur et gourmandise dû au fût de bourbon et à l’agricole. Degusté a la soirée Rhum Club Paris (Hôtel Maison Mère)

A little bit too dry
Review by Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰
#4553 18.01.2024 Flipping a few samples today ☺️ A pretty ok release with a medium fruity and medium dry profile. The Agricole notes are also there and the palate has some added grass and roasted note. The finish is medium to long with light dryness. There is a faint cherry and caramel note in the profile. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass has light coffee and faint chocolate.

Surprising Cask Strength Savanna from plantation. Intense cocoa, grapefruit, lots of wood and salted caramel, astringent and tannic. Then in the finish some typical menthol and overripe strawberry.

beautiful Savanna bottling

Woody, rough, alcoholic, astringent and pungent. Not my thing at all. It's still a bit fruity, with a grapefruit-like bitterness. But I don't like it.
