CDI Enmore (Versailles) Guyana 1988
One taster called it "really good," full and spicy, and that captures it: a 29-year Enmore wooden-pot rum that starts fruity and soft — peach, pear, dried fruit, vanilla, cookie dough — then swings sharply into dry, herbal, woody spice. Light in body and colour despite the age. A couple of members found it a touch untamed, with smoke and a peppery bite lingering on the finish.

A beautifully balanced Guyana rum, fruity on the nose, more in the direction of dried fruit, raisin, plum. Some vanilla, wood paired with a sweetness, perhaps cookie dough. Very round on the palate from start to finish. Dried fruits, a hint of roasted flavors and vanilla, of course also wood. Very mild, not sharp-edged.

A good bit more intense than the Colours of Rum. Aromatically a bit more complex, but also a bit untamed - despite the not too high alcohol content, the spices, smoky notes and some spiciness in the finish clearly have an effect here. Also interesting is the difference between first impression on the nose and the flavor profile on the palate, which changes abruptly from fruity-lovely to tart-spicy. Did not like me at the first tasting shortly after the release particularly well, this judgment is now corrected somewhat; the rum is definitely not a bad one. However, the release is still a bit too impetuous for me.

20.07.2019 Nice private blind tasting where we put tinfoil around the bottles we brought. That ended up being a great evening. Notes Light in colour. Nose Wood, light roasted, medicinal, plum, raisin, light marzipan and coconut, faint licorice. Palate Wood, light roasted, naturally sweet, licorice, light nutts, plum, light chocolate, medicinal. Finish Medium to long, wood, cherry, light citrus, nutts, light licorice.

Des herbes fermentées et des fruits jaunes au nez avec un bois (nous de cèdre) parfaitement intégré. La première bouche est ample avec des fruits jaunes et des fruits secs. Un rhum plutôt sur la finesse malgré un bois marqué.

Color: Bright gold Aroma: Fruity elegant and aromatic of peach, mango and pear. Smells very tasty vanilla and cookie dough, wood, licorice, straw and spices. Taste: Sweet and mild in the mouth. Creamy on the swallow, then a fruit explosion with pear brandy and fruit brandy. Also vanilla, sandalwood and pleasantly spicy at the same time. Very elegant and delicious, mild and round. Finish: Medium length Vanilla and oak. Dry and spicy aftertaste 87 points

This is really good, I don't know if it is the 2% more abv but this feels much fuller and nicer. Freshly cut herbs wood and a little fruit that explodes on the palate with lots of spices. Finishes very smooth
