Aroma: smoky, lots of wood, rubber, heavy notes, smoky nutty notes, fresh fruit and ripe apple in the background. Taste: sweet, dense, nutty, smoky, charcoal taste. A very dense long aftertaste that completely continues the taste and aroma. A very interesting agricole aged in barrels from under the Islay (suggested that most likely Ardbeg) and this radically changes the taste of rum. An excellent continuation of the tasting of smoky rums, after the Caroni set.

Pleasant enough sipper - to me this rum’s whole flavour profile screams Sherry Cask Peated Whisky! Smoke, peat, roasted malt (!) alongside dried fruits like apricots, raisins and figs It’s a bit intense on the peated/smoky element - I wonder though if this is maybe an Armagnac cask maybe with it being matured in French Oak? Not that I’ve had Armagnac before however I’ve heard of notes like smoke, peat, tar, industrial notes associated with it before so maybe that’s what I’m tasting, Revised my score - after going back to it again all I’m getting is the ex-Islay cask influence…. That has totally taken over now - not for me Not offensive but not desirable either

For some reason this reminds me of some Highland Park whisky 🤷‍♂️ This has somewhat of the smoky profile just as in Highland Park. It's a bit fruity as well with some nice oaky touches. The 53% abv is barely noticeable. Vefy nice 👌

At the price tag this is a very nice rum. The nose matches the palate pretty well in the fruit and spices. I love the fresh floral notes on the nose and palate as well and the balance is pretty good. Vanilla and Nutmed is also in there and I think there is a sherry note there as well but I'm not certain about it. The finish is long and warm with nuts, spice and wood. Would have loved a higher ABV, but still a good rum.
