It‘s a very good complex and delicious rum with a nice lovely fruity/roasted/woody Profile. Only minus is that tje Alcohol could be intergrated better. If you add some drops of water, it will help a lot. For me one of the best rums of 2021 Nose: fruity, banana, blackberry, overripe fruits, mandarin, apricot, alcoholic, varnish, ginger, spicy, tobacco Mouth: Full bodied, strong, dry, elegant, intense, oak, vanilla, roasted, spicy, dried fruits, dried currants, banana, green apple Finish: medium long, astrigend, dry, delicious, young wood, oak, tannins, burnt sugar #bottlekill

Really sharp and long alcohol burn, it has been recommended to have it breathing for an hour, to lessen the burn and bring the fruit. Unfortunately the sample was to small... For now the sharp burn is too much and reduces the overall score.

Australian Rums Tasting, Rum Club Switzerland. A restrained, balanced nose of luxurious wood, yellow fruit and especially apple, with a delicate floral edge. The palate is silky and floral (rose), with tobacco and, above all, sour apple. It's like being in a cellar where apples age. The finish is long and balanced. Vanilla emerges on the finish. A slight curry in the empty glass. A splendid rum, all finesse and balance. A slight spiciness at the very end disturbs me a little.

Ganz anders wie der velier 2006. Viel mehr dunkle Aromen von Kakao, Kaffee, Zimt, Leder, Tabak, Brombeeren und Banane. Aber auch die typischen Noten nach Birne und leicht florale Noten sind vorhanden. Insgesamt ist er mir aber bisschen zu rauchig und Holzig. Alkohol könnte auch hier etwas besser integriert sein aber für den Preis ist es mehr als fair. Definitiv einer der besten full proof Australier am Markt! Ich persönlich bevorzuge aber mehr die noch fruchtigeren & jüngeren Abfüllungen. Den hier kann man bedenkenlos kaufen egal ob man Vorerfahrung mit Australien hat oder nicht 🦘🪃

Ein toller Vertreter aus Australien. Vollmundig, kräftig und ausgesprochen fruchtig. Im Abgang kommt dann noch Schokolade dazu. Definitiv eine Reise wert.

After tasting the barrel sample (then still at 74%) at the 10th GRF in Berlin, I knew that I needed this rum. Surprisingly quickly, it went on sale just four weeks later. The nose is incredibly exciting, with a duel between chocolate and tropical and dark red fruits. Very complex and harmonious. Powerful on the palate, not quite as inviting as the nose, as the alcohol is still very present. Perhaps it needs a little more time in the glass. Nevertheless, very tasty, great variety and very good PLV!

I had first as a barrel sample on the 10th GRF, then still thought he had 75%. He had pleased me already there!Nose: half an hour in the glass, then he is ready. Full-bodied, intense and round. A whole fruit basket: cherry, blackberry, juicy pear, mealy banana, fresh tangerine. A slightly vinegary red wine tone is there. Plus a heavy sweetness of maple syrup and burnt sugar. Lots of spicy notes behind that too: damp pipe tobacco with vanilla, light mocha with cocoa powder and some milk chocolate. Palate: stronger and fuller attack, much less fruity but spicy. A bit salty-bitter and dry, aromatic cherry wood. Then black currant and pear skin after all. A bit smoky and bacony and out the back again the pear.So far the best Australian for me.

Incredibly balanced and consistently great buried Nlten with a touch of vanilla. Really really good to the 85 points is missing me personally but something. But without a doubt the best Australian I had.

Is in direct comparison with the TRC clearly ahead - spicy, intense, overall simply rounder. Although not a complexity miracle, but simply a pleasure to drink. Great rum!

For me already a classic. And, if I see it right, clearly by most here with the best rated Australian (at all and of the year 2007 anyway). And rightly so! It is simply incredibly balanced, complex and deep. I find the alcohol rather beneficial than disturbing, it rounds off the powerful, earthy overall impression. Happy the one who can still have that in the glass! 😉

8,3:On the nose, the first impression we get is very fruity with diverse fruits like apricot, banana, grape, citrus and quite obvious varnish.The wood is spicy and roasted with baking spices, caramel, burnt sugar and nuts. On aeration, the molasses is a bit vegetal, some notes as tobacco, leather, coffee become stronger. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is very fruity and woody with pineapple, dried fruits, berries, green apple and pear, later yellow fruits.The wood is very spicy with baking spices, vanilla, roasted with chocolate, caramel and maple. After nice rest, the molasses is darker with a licorice/herbs, tobacco and flowery with a rose...and smoke arises. Very pleasant now. 8,4:The finish is long with charred wood notes, dry and spicy, a bit tannic, still fruity, in the end some curry joins the play...

Un Beenleigh haut en couleurs et avec de l’énergie à revendre. Le nez est très intense, très fruité (poire, raisin, abricot, agrumes, fruits tropicaux) avec des notes herbacées sur le thé très douces. Les épices (cannelle, gingembre, piment, vanille), le caramel et le sucre brûlé offre beaucoup de rondeur, tandis que le tabac, le cuir, le boisé rôti et le vernis donnent du caractère. Un rhum au profil bien trempé. On retrouve un rhum avec une très belle bouche qui se veut harmonieuse, fruitée (fruit de la passion, baies), épicée (cannelle, piment, poivre) et fumée. Le profil est peu moins frais que le nez mais conserve la gourmandise et la maîtrise des arômes (notamment pour le vernis, le tabac, le boisé et les épices). L’alcool est palpable avec la chaleur mais reste bien intégré dans ce profil complet et savoureux. La finale est longue, tannique et astringente, mais conserve un côté fruité et épicé très aromatique (poire, pomme, raisin, abricot). Le cuir, le café, le tabac et le boisé alimente le côté pêchu, tandis que le thé adoucit la finale et le sucre brûlé arrondit les angles, formant un rhum complet, intense mais opulent. Une excellente mise en bouteille d’un rhum australien, un véritable porte-étendard de son terroir.

Heute 5 Australier im Glas. 1. Rum Club 14 yr: hellfruchtig, am Gaumen sehr präsent mit mittellangen Abgang. 83 Pkt. 2. Rom Deluxe no. 40 15yr: Schon ganz anders, als der erste Rum Club. Wesentlich trockener. Ebenfalls sehr fruchtig, wobei die Früchte hier eher dunkel beerig sind. Der Abgang ist leider etwas mettalisch. 85 Pkt. 3. Rum Club no. 40 16 yr: Ähnlich qie der erste Rum Club, nur mit mehr Holz und wesentlich trockener. Wenn auch nicht so trocken, wie der Rom Deluxe. Finde den Alkohol hier nicht gut eingebunden. 80 Pkt. 4. RA 2007 15 yr: Ähnelt vom Profil dem ersten Rum Club sehr durch seine dominanten hellen Früchte. Bei diesem Rum jedoch viel intensiver und komplexer. Ein absolutes Feuerwerk, was hier am Gaumen abgeht! Aprikose, Mirabelle und Pfirsisch in einer so intensiven Form ist beeindruckend. Wäre der Abgang etwas länger wäre das ein grandioser Rum. Aber auch so sehr gut! 88 Pkt. 5. Ferroni 2013: Absolut nicht vergleichbar mit den Kollegen. Total fassgetrieben. Sehr intensiv am Gaumen mit dunklen Früchten, nassem Holz und Leder. Wer Rums mit sehr starkem Fasseinfluss mag, hat hier einen perfekten Begleiter für den Abend am Feuer gefunden. Mir gefällt er auch. 81 Pkt. Die prägnante Trockenheit vom Rom Deluxe finde ich klasse. Ein Stück Wüste im Mund =D Ebenfalls hebt er sich etwas von den anderen ab, durch seine dunklen Früchte. Die beiden RC und der RA sind am besten vergleichbar, wobei hier der RA für mich mot großem Abstand der Beste ist.

Un sample que j'ai depuis longtemps. On le goûte ce soir avec des amis. Bon vraiment les rhums à plus de 60% j'ai de plus en plus de mal. Ça ferme un peu les arômes et brûle mon nez trop délicat 😉 Donc avec un peu d'eau. Sinon c'est un beau spécimen de ce qui se fait en Australie.

This one did sit in the glass 30-60 minutes, while i compared my notes others tasting notes that were different than mine. On the nose: Very earthy, like tobacco, pencil shavings and some roots. Mild vinegar note. Sugarcane notes and vanilla come in after a while. Alcoholic. Taste: Oily mouthfeel at first. Strong and alcoholic. Tobacco, spices. Then you get woody notes and light vanilla. Finish: Lots of woody notes. Roasted Spices. Leather. Light roasted coffee. Strange how my notes are different than rest of the reviews. If we are talking about the same rum, this one was too alcoholic and perhaps top earthy for my liking.

Wie ein Agricole XO an der Nase mit viel Frucht, Leder, Tabak, Schokolade und Zucker. Die Schärfe im Mund trifft hart, dazu nur herbe Noten, Gewürze, Schokolade und etwas Frucht. Im Abgang gibt es dann noch ein kleine Kehrtwände, bei der süße und bittere Fruchtbeeren hängen bleiben, begleitet von Holz, Gewürz und Schokolade. Um das Mundgefühl zu lindern, sollte etwas Wasser hinzugefügt werden. Runder Rum!

3. Verkostung, nun ist das Sample leer: Wieder ein bisschen besser wie beim letzten mal. Ich finde ihn immer noch wahnsinnig alkoholisch und scharfkantig. Aber er hat auch tolle würzige und beerige Aromen, vorwiegend am Gaumen. Im Abgang süß wie Karamell und gleichzeitig röstig-würzig und erneut alkoholisch. Von 79 hoch auf 81. Mein Lieblingsrum wird er aber wohl nicht werden.

Im Vergleich mit dem RA zeigt sich dieser Rum an der Nase etwas offener. Sonst sind sie kaum zu unterscheiden. Vom Geschmack empfinde ich den RC etwas „leichter“ (hellere Früchte) mit gut eingebundem Alkohol und langem Abgang. Ein top Rum!

im Vergleich mit dem 2007 Rum Cask, beide 14 Jahre, der RumClub aber mehr ABV. Erster Eindruck an der Nase: ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass die Unterschiede so deutlich ausfallen. Der Rum Cask mit der schönen, fruchtig-süssen Mandarine Nase. Der Rumclub braucht erstmal deutlich länger bis der ABV die Noten freigibt, aber dann ein sehr schöner Fruchtkorb, bei dem es echt schwer ist, alles zu beschreiben (Birne, Apfel, Kirsche). Im Hintergrund Vanille und Zimt. Am Gaumen hat der RumClub eine herrlich süsse, schokoladige Note, der Rum Cask ist eher röstig. So gesehen, ist der RumClub der Sieger.

This is a must try for most. This is at the same level as much older rums so you get a band for your buck. From opening very fruity and chocolaty with tobacco which continues slightly different on the palate where it is intense and complex. My advice, buy, buy, buy.

RumXmas BONUS: A bit late to the party because I fell asleep on the couch (wayyy too much Christmas food) 😃 Wouldn’t know if I would have guessed Australia. Secret distillery, but Beenleigh could be plausible. I have The Duchess Australia open and it does has some common ground with this: overpowering alcohol at first and needs a lot of time to open up, but once the paint thinner fades away it gets more accessible and fruitier. The longer it stands, the better it gets. It could also be a logical explanation for the many Guyana guesses: their “vat still” is comparable to the Port Mourant still and that the original distillers learned the craft in Guyana in the 1900’s.

Zum Abschluss des RX-Adventskalender gehts mit dem Beenleigh noch mal nach Australien. Aromen von Pflaume, Traube, Kirsch, Vanille und Holz/Sägespäne. Am Gaumen sogar nich einen Tick fruchtiger und süße Noten. Leichter Essigstich. Wenn man dem Rum viel Zeit gibt ist er sehr komplex.

Im direkten Vergleich mit dem Brave New Spirits ist dieser deutlich weniger fruchtig an der Nase. Auch der Alkohol sticht leider etwas. Am Gaumen ziemlich intensiv, aber auch hier ist der Alkohol leider Recht dominant. In Summe dennoch ein solider Australier.

Ich habe mir über diesen Rum 1 Jahr lang Gedanken gemacht. Ihn mehrfach verkostet. Er ist rundum gelungen aber es gibt leider einen Haken. Mir persönlich ist der Alkoholpunch zu heftig. Und ich hatte schon diverse Rums in Fassstärke im Glas die allesamt trinkbar waren. Ich kann mit dieser Erfahrung also nicht behaupten der Alkohol sei in dieser Abfüllung gut eingebunden. Fazit also: guter Rum dem ich aber nicht gewachsen bin. Schade eigentlich. Denn ohne dieses Manko wäre ein "Sehr Gut" als Bewertung drin.

Wäre der Alkohol noch ein wenig besser integriert wäre es ein Fall für >90 Aber auch so präsentiert sich hier Rum aus Australien von der besten Seite. Mit genug Zeit explodieren die Geschmackseindrücke. Von Beeren über Orangennoten, einer deutlichen Tabaknote bis hin zu Röst und Backaromen haben wir hier einiges geboten. Im Finish lässt sich sogar etwas Birne entdecken. Jetzt bräuchte ich schon wieder nen Nachtisch. Den werde ich definitiv noch Mal probieren 😋

Nose: God, it’s a weird one..I initially sense just, pure, untamed alcohol. Swirling it around in the glass, release some light raisins notes. There might be some vanilla and wood to it, although it is really hard for me to pass through that alcohol barrier. Some water helps releasing a little bit of fruity notes (grapes). Palate: I hardly get some burnt caramel, wood, maybe some roasted almonds. Again, thanks to the water I’m able to pick some raisins and red grapes. There’s a spicy, peppery note. My humble opinion: the alcohol is too strong and not well integrated.

Sehr guter Australier, der schon an der Nase volles Potential verspricht. Er ist würziger und kraftvoller als andere Vertreter Von Down Under, es schwingt ein Hauch Barbados mit - Vanille, Holz und Früchte. Auf der Zunge geht es ein wenig Richtung gebrannte Zucker, für Demerara Flair ist er aber zu weich und süß bzw nicht herb genug. Aber muss er ja auch gar nicht - kommt ja aus Australien! 😄 Hinten raus Tabak, gelbes Obst und Vanille - schöne Abfüllung, die ein wenig kantig durch den Alkohol wirkt, der nicht zu weich integriert ist, was ihn aber auch wieder lecker macht und weniger gewöhnlich

Tested against RX388. This one is a lot more powerful. I have now left it for just as long as its competitor. But I have to admit that it has not developed as well. The finish is longer, but after the time I've given them both, I don't think the alcohol is quite as well integrated here. Each has its charm, but the bottom line is that they are both on a par.

Ein sehr schöner vierzehnjähriger Rum aus Australien. Typische Noten von dunklen Kakao und Schokolade. Aber auch im Geschmack die typischen Geschmäcker von Birne und der florale Geschmack. Kann man gut trinken.

RumX Advendskalender 25.12.21: Blind nicht in die Nähe gekommen. Hätte auf eine Ten Cane getippt. Insgesamt trübt der herausstechende Alkohol für mich das Erlebnis doch zu stark. Es ist wie wenn man im Kino einen top Film schaut, aber die Reihe hinter einem einer ständig reinspricht. Film ist zwar gut aber es lässt sich nicht sonderlich geniessen.

Sehr leckerer Beenleigh. Im Gegensatz zur Nase ist der Alkohol im Geschmack und Abgang nicht wahrnehmbar. Mit Wasser wird er noch fruchtiger. Auch die typische Pfirsich-Note ist dabei.

Farbe: Gold leuchtender Bernstein Geruch: Süß und fruchtig aromatisch. Aprikose und Mango mit Karamell Pudding. Etwas kräutriges ist auch da. Aufgrund des hohen Alkoholgehaltes ist es aber schwierig viel zu riechen. Geschmack: Alkoholisch süß und cremig mit Karamell. Beim Schlucken alkoholisch-würzig. Rund - auch etwas Frucht ist noch da. Abgang: Lang Würzig, holzig, alkoholisch und scharf. Aromen von Mandel und Karamell. Im Nachgeschmack hauptsächlich holzig. Deutlich besser als die anderen australischen Rums, die ich bisher probiert habe. 84 Punkte

Knackig alkoholisch und Lack in der Nase. Zumindest in den ersten 10 Minuten im Glas. Danach eröffnet sich dann deutlich mehr und vor allem spannendes. Viel Röst- und Holzaromen, dunkle Früchte wie Brombeere. Rauch und Birnenbrand sind weniger deutlich aber klar vorhanden. Vanille, Banane, Kirsche deuten sich an. Wein, Tabak, Karamell und Ahornsirup als Kontrast. Am Gaumen vollmundig, warm und süß. Der Alkohol könnte besser eingebunden sein, wird relativ scharf. Die dunklen Noten dominieren aber auch hier. Würzig, dunkle Früchte (besonders Beeren) gegenüber holzigem Karamell, ahornsirupiger Süße. Dahinter Tabak, Vanille, Aprikose, Schokolade. Tolle Aromen, sehr intensiv und rund. Punktabzug für den doch ziemlich scharfen Alkohol. Bei der nächsten Runde gebe ich ihm die Stunde Luft die er scheinbar braucht.

En Klassiker aus Australien. War lange meine Reverenz in dem Bereich. Intensiv, buttrig mit einer schönen Würze. Ich bin froh noch einmal eine Flasche geöffnet zu haben, muss aber auch sagen das es schier unmöglich schien von diesem intensiven Rum 50cl alleine zu trinken. Habe noch eine Reserve, aber als nächstes öffne ich lieber die Konkurrenz von RA.

Noch fix mein Statement bevor die Buddel alle ist. Klasse Australier. Die Nase ist von tollen Fruchtnoten dominiert. Der Gaumen zeigt sich von der schweren dunklen Seite, mit viel Holz,Würze, ein wenig Tabak und Leder. Gefällt mit sehr gut. Der Alkohol versteckt sich nicht, ist aber nicht so störend.

Wow der wummst mit seinen 65% erst mal ordentlich rein, aber die schaden ihm auch nicht, weil dieser Rum so dicht an Aromen ist und einen Wunderbar labgen Abgang hat, wo man fast den Eindruck hat, man schmeckt sogar erst am meisten von ihm, nachdem man ihn runtergeschluckt hat. Mit ein paar Tropfen Wasser öffnet er sich sogar noch mehr, bekommt aber eine leichte Bitternote. Whiskys sagt man ja oft nach, dass man sich einen Brennereicharakter oft nur einbildet und in der Blindverkostung ohnehin die meisten durchfallen - bei Rum habe ich bei vielen Brennereien einen gegenteiligen Eindruck und Beenleigh und St.Lucia sind solche unverkennbaren Beispiele, die man überall rausschmeckt. Geschmacklich habe finde hier sogar passend zu Australien frisch geschnittenes, harziges Eukalyptusholz und diese Note wird durch das hohe Abv sogar verstärkt.

A very nice and complex beenleigh, that brings some herbal notes and cocoa into the game. The apple is still there and it is still pretty much the 2007 batch. Apple and roasted notes make this a banger.
