Don't expect fireworks from this Panama 2008. It's a gentle, wood-and-vanilla sipper with caramel, apple and a little dried fruit and chocolate underneath. Reviews split: some find it fruity and nicely balanced at 45.7%, others call it heavy on neutral spirit with not much going on. Pleasant and easy, more everyday than special.

Following the colorful creatures of the «Birds of Paradise» collection, take a deep dive to meet the marine animals native to the great terroirs of rum. The second series of the Plantation Rum Vintage Collection, «Under the Sea» brings together six exceptional bottlings produced in limited quantities. Panama marks the first stop on this world tour with a rum distilled in 2008, featuring warm notes of fruit, sweet spices and chocolate. Delightful news for rum fans!

Fruity with spices from nose to finish with a bit of nuts, caramel and chocolate. Not your typical Panama rum, but pretty close and I like that you get the multi cask maturing. Would have loved a higher ABV :-) Price to quality is extremely good.

Tasting 19/4-24 Peters vin. Nose: Vanilla, fruity with some red berries, and some caramel.. Taste: Some sweet tobacco and caramel, some oaky notes. Finish: again some oak, light smoke, and dryness..

This Panama rum is not bad but also not particularly exciting. Sweetness, wood and spiciness are dominant. Behind it a few dried fruits. Price to performance is ok.
