Savanna Traditionnel Type G2 (Staff Selection) 2006
One Danish taster called the palate "dry and wonderfully warm," and that's the honest read on this Savanna: pepper first, then mint, tobacco, a little burnt caramel and red-fruit tartness. It's spicy and intense rather than fruity, and at 59.4% the heat shows. Several people liked it a lot while noting it isn't a complexity monster and the finish runs a touch peppery-flat.

Aggregated from 22 community reviews.
Peppery, warming Reunion molasses sipper Well-liked as a spicy, warming molasses Savanna — pepper, mint and tobacco lead. Most enjoy it neat; a few find the finish too peppery and a bit hot and unbalanced.

#4164 A very nice profile. Spicy and warm with some fruit and minty notes. The palate is dry and wonderfully warm.

Sehr würzig, Kräuter, Pfeffer, leicht Menthol, citrus ätherische Öle.

Delightful nose! Dark, toasty and intense. Nice and spicy on the palate. But the finish is unfortunately a bit too peppery and flat.

Ein guter Savanna mit pfeffrigen Aromen
Review by Alex1981
Oily, peppery nose with full mouthfeel. Slightly burned caramel notes with a medium finish on pepper notes again.

Very peppery intense savanna. Almost something of a colorful pepper mixture, plus some citrus jam and caramel. Beautiful part but not a complexity monster!

Review by Henry Davies
An interesting nose, restrained actually and for my first Savanna was expecting a little more. Mint and lemon alongside sugary notes, caramel on the palate and an element of pepper and spice. Finish brings more herbal and vegetal notes. Complex but lacks the fine balance that really takes a rum to another level.
