Habitation Velier Long Pond White STC❤️E 2018
Daiquiri lovers and Jamaican-funk fans are the natural home for this unaged Long Pond STC❤️E. Expect nail polish and green olives on the nose, then a full fruit basket — banana, overripe pineapple, strawberry — with pepper, salt and rubber underneath. Several call it a "flavourbomb" that mixes brilliantly but still sips once it opens up. At 62.5% the alcohol lands surprisingly well-integrated.

Yet another retaste and here I also stick to my score 😊 This is a surprisingly good white unaged rum. Looking at the price tag you get a lot for your money. Very fruity with an intense nose and starting palate. The chemical factory like my friend calls it is there and the finish is very long and warm. Draws nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass is very nice even after hours.

Really interesting to have an unaged STCE in front of the nose. In direct comparison to a 13yo, this one almost has something of a white Agricole (similar to the Renegade pre-casks). The esters don't have the upper hand yet.Nose: fruity, fresh and sweet, herbal. Initially the esters are there with a pleasant vinegar note. Then immediately green apple with mild lemon and sweetish fruit, perhaps mirabelle or banana? Has hints of an Obstler. Behind that, spicy-sweet honey and a restrained blend of anise and chamomile. Palate: intense with an interesting flavor arc. Warm at first then salty-mineral bitter, very dry. Transitioning to light esters with some fruit, sugar cane sweetness, then green, with saffron and chamomile.Barrel cleaning would do it good.

Yummy🤤 Very classic fruity(full fruit basket from banana, citrus, overripe fruits) and funky estery rum! The alcohol is integrated well. I can recommend this for mixing! It can improve every cocktail 🤤

We are here in the presence of a Jamaican well fruity (Banana / Pineapple / Mango / Pear / Peach / Green apple acid) all these fruits are well sweetened and candied what gives an impression of candy to this rum.as any Jamaican who respects itself it is obviously empyreumatic (Rubber / Smoke / Metallic / Tar) but also greedy (Cream / Crème brûlé / Fruit cake). The spices accompany us all along (Nutmeg / Cinnamon / Vanilla / Liquorice / Clove) with also a small vegetable side that ends on a small olive brine in the end. It is really great!

On the nose, a fruity sweet note predominates, the alcohol is gently perceptible. A little vanilla also comes through.Surprising then on the palate: first a sweetness, then briefly something fruity and finally dominant a tart pleasant spice! The alcohol is perfectly integrated! That has what!In the finish, the spice remains most noticeable!Very tasty!

What a pleasure it is to open this bottle and immediately smell that distinctive aroma. It's strong, rotten, esterized, peppery and so on. The taste doesn't disappoint. It's intense. Young and lively. Everything is too present in this rum, and that makes it incredible. Long Pond is definitely my thing. Edit: tested and validated in an overboosted mai-tai! Re-edit: tested during a 5l barrel ageing experiment. This white is excellent. Edit: finished for this one. Impressions confirmed with each tasting.

Un bon long pond bien funky . Nez : des Esters/ solvant + fruit très murs + une très légère sauce barbecue. Bouche : un goût intense avec encore des Esters + banane et ananas très murs + un peu de sucre Finale : frais et doux , minéral et très léger fumé.

Long Pond Velier Colourless Nose: juicy and tropical. Yes there are high esters of course, but relatively friendly. Varnish, then hubba bubba chewing gum, banana, pineapple, strawberry and lemon. A hint of plastic and rubber, icing sugar, and honeysuckle. Taste: very rounded and sweet, what an explosion of fruit this is! Overripe pineapple, banana, papaya, honeysuckle again. Then icing sugar, strawberry confectionery, rubber, a hint of tar, ginger and green leaf. Finish: Long, lingering, on the overripe fruit, rubber and tar, and spice. What a great distillate this is!

Very representative of Jamaica, with a lot of fruity, vegetal esters and smoky notes. A nice long finish.

A very interesting unaged Long Pond. In addition to the typical Jamaican notes (esters and fruit), for me it also has something of a good Agricole. An interesting and very successful combination. The alcohol is excellently integrated, especially considering that it has not been matured in barrels.

Beautiful unaged Long Pond. Also good to drink neat.

Voňavý banán, ovoce, vanilka, smetana, techničnost, kůže. Nevtíravá vůně, moc fajn. První doušek bez rozlihování celkem masakr, ale pak už je to jamajská funky jízda. Přezrálé ovoce, techničnost, kůže. Tohle by mohlo být zajímavé mít třeba v 55%.

I like the nose and the beginning of the mouth but the finish on the metal is rather unpleasant.

The STCE Mark is just super tasty - also in this unaged bottling. Tastes also pure but is a grenade in the daiquiri.
Review by Andi
Super fruity, fresh and funky! For me a top candidate for a delicious daiquiri!

The heart in the marrow says it all ;-). After the alcohol has evaporated after a few minutes super pleasant "Jamaica ester nose" and in the taste an explosion of tropical fruits, with a metallic sweetness and a pinch of salt.
Review by MJ97
It is very complex (like most of the Jamaican I have tasted so far). On the nose, we have a lot of roundness, a nice note of banana well marked, on a background of dark chocolate. In mouth, the 62,5 are not felt at all, it is extremely well integrated. We have a red fruit side that takes over with the taste of yeast / crust that is in the background but that does not bother me as much as on the old ones. The finish remains on the red fruits.

What a lovely nose! Intensely smells like fruity bubblegum. A touch of banana, accompagnied by baskets of berries: raspberry, blackberry and especially strawberry. Backbone structured by springwater, freshly brewed tea, old hay barn and black olives. Taste is very much alike, but with the introduction of sugarcane. The tea turns black and peppery with touches of anise. The finish is salty, minty and quite hot. The alcohol is not integrated perfectly, but the flavours are definitely there. This is amazing in cocktails, but leave it to breathe for a bit and it could be a sipper, making the release price/quality very high.

With unaged rums, you immediately notice the quality, and this one is really first class. Fruity Jamaican with a lot of funk and very well-integrated alcohol. You should try it, especially because only then can you really appreciate what maturing does to the rum.

This first nose reminded me of childhood and the Hubba Bubba gum.In the mouth this is nice funky and strong and nice full-bodied. Slightly salty I find just before the finish.A nice rum, for me so far the best unaged rum I had in the glass.
