Plantation Black Cask Barbados & Guatemala
Easy to sip neat but a bit of a wild mix. Expect dried apricot, prune and pineapple up front, then a late smoky, tobacco finish and a sweetness most tasters found heavier than expected. Several people also caught a sharp vinegar or solvent edge that ties into the esters. As one member put it, it doesn't quite know what it wants to be.

Getrocknete Aprikose, Banane und Ananas in überreif sind hier vorne in der Nase dabei. Mit etwas Wärme kommt tatsächlich eine gewisse Essignote - finde ich aber nicht unangenehm, fügt sich schön zu den Esteransätzen. Raucharomen auch hier dezent. Weitaus süßer als erwartet - und nötig. Funktioniert zwar, wirkt aber unpassend. Generell ist das hier ein recht wildes Durcheinander aus Frucht, Rauch, Holz und sehr ungewohnten Säurenoten wie Grapefruit. Im Abgang dann sehr rauchig, aber erst spät. Hier ist einfach zu viel los. Macht ihn spannend, aber auch leider ziemlich unrund. Als wüsste er nicht was er will.

Der Geruch erinnert stark an Reinigungsmittel mit Nagellackentferner. Geschmacklich ist er recht dünn. Der dominierende Geschmack ist vor allem zuckersüß. Durch den Reinigungsmittel Geruch in Kombination schmeckt es ein wenig säuerlich süß, ähnlich zu sehr reifer passionsfrucht.

On the nose first a sweet / sour note... almost like highly diluted vinegar, light smoke joins it!On the palate a strong oily sweetness (added sugar?), which changes to dried apricot / plum and then ends on a smoky note!The finish also includes dried apricots!It's not mine

Interessant. Zunächst muffig und alkoholisch an der Nase, nach einer weil treten Früchte und Zimt hervor. Auch am Gaumen tritt dabsi insbesondere Ananas hervor undzwar exakt so wie sie im Stiggins Fancy von Plantation schmeckt.

Lots of fruit on the nose, paired with syrup/honey and something baked. Rather thin in the mouth, if then sweet, fruity, roasted. In the finish you can taste smoky notes in the form of tobacco, whereby the combination with sweet sugar is unusual. Conclusion: OK as a rum, but rather weak.

Spannender wie die restliche Serie mit einer schöner Fruchtsäure aber kein Highlight. Mich stört aber dieses leicht Essig artige im Abgang.
