Longueteau 125 ans
Smell it and you expect something old and powerful; taste it and several members felt it thins out. This aged Guadeloupe agricole leans dry and woody, with vanilla, brown sugar, caramel and dried plum, plus a roasted coffee edge. Elegant and spicy, but the finish is short and a touch bitter, and a few found the 44.4% not fully integrated.</antname="review">Well-made, mature agricole most find fruity, woody and refined. The recurring gripe: too thin and short on the finish, with light bitterness. A minority think it drinks a bit over-diluted.

Juste un pur moment de plaisir

Got a sample of this one yesterday and I placed an order for a bottle right away. A complex and well balanced release with fruity notes and lovely spices. The wood and dried fruits are balanced very well with the flavours of brown sugar. I can only recommend this rum if you like Longueteau. Price to quality is very good in my mind.

Solidní agricole, pěkná ovocitá vůně, chuť více k sušenému ovoci a švestkám. Nepříliš dlouhá dochuť.
Review by Djehey

Review by Piotr Ignasiak
RX calendar 23 Quite mature Agricole with wood notes, at the same time a bit light on finish.

#24DaysOfRum2023 - Day 23 On the nose a wonderful combination of spices and flowers. Potent and full. Clearly agricole, and definitely more floral than fruity. It opens with dried fruits, zest and subtle sugars before quite quickly turning to popped corn, roasted nuts and hay barn. These latter notes last throughout the entire experience before finishing in a bouquet of flowers. With agitation a rubbery note presents itself tying everything neatly together. A continuation of flavours on the palate. Dense, yet curiously complex. An espresso aftertaste is introduced that dials the bitterness up a notch. Or maybe even multiple notches. Pretty nice. However, there seems to be a theme among these ‘120 years’ of this and ‘240 years’ of that: overdilution. Again this product has been brought down too much (or too inefficiently). It’s not as bad as usual, but this should’ve been kept above 48 and it would have easily received mid 80’s. Despite the palate being too thin, the finish is still medium in length and quite potent: laurel and flowery, with a hint of rubber.

Nose is intense and fruity - feels very rich and mature. On the palate things get a bit thin unfortunately with spices and wood dominating the party. Finish is quite short, yet with a bit to much bitterness for this elegant bottling.
