La Favorite Sélection de fûts 2012
The grassy agricole nose you'd expect takes a back seat here — what lands is wood, black pepper and toasted, almost coffee-and-cigar notes over ripe banana. Nine and a half years in cask gives it a dry, spice-driven character with a long finish. Several tasters call it rich but a touch disjointed, with fruit, oak and alcohol sitting a little apart until it opens up.

Ce rhum vieux propose une très belle richesse aromatique au nez et en bouche. C’est un rhum d’une grande subtilité après repos et montre un caractère affirmé sur les épices, le boisé et le fruité. Délicat au nez et en bouche, malgré un côté sec il dispose d’une palette aromatique profonde, signe d’un excellent travail de la Favorite. La finale est d’une longueur extraordinaire et envoûtante avec qu’une envie… y revenir !

18.12.2021 Participating in a nice tasting given to me as a present. Nice hotel in a very central location. Notes Medium to dark in colour. Nose Fresh, light wood, faint roaster, floral, light grass, floral, faint honey. Palate Round, fresh, light wood, naturally sweet, ligh grass, faint caramel, light nutts, light citrus. Finish Medium long, fresh, light wood, fruits, citrus.

Nose: fruity on banana/roasted notes Mouth: warm but greedy/spicyFinal: long on tobacco This 2012 vintage is clearly more expressive and interesting than the 2015. This is what I expect from a good agricultural rum from La Favorite.

Du fruit à coque, une eau de vie de fruits trop mûres, du fût, quelques épices...un délice qui glisse rondement sur la langue et qui appelle à la gorgée suivante ! Un très joli La Favorite vraiment.

Nez sympathique sur le poivre noir, le café et même le pain grillé. En bouche on retrouve plutôt ces arômes empyreumatiques.

Un rhum dans lequel il se passe beaucoup de choses. Malheureusement, il n'est pas bien équilibré. C'est comme si on avait les fruits d'un côté, le bois de l'autre et l'alcool un peu plus loin. Dommage... Autre dégustation : Le temps a permis au rhum d'être plus cohérent. Toutefois le résultat n'est pas encore tout à fait à mon goût. Par ailleurs, l'alcool ne semble pas parfaitement intégré. C'est dommage, on sent que c'est une bouteille qui du potentiel...

Goûté en aveugle calendrier de l'avent 2022: Le nez est moyen, peu attractif. La bouche est au contraire très aromatique et surprenante.L'alcool est très bien intégré et l'ensemble est puissant et rond. Dominent la réglisse, café, boisé et cigare. Un très bon rhum réussi, mais cependant pas à mon goût, d'où la note modérée, mais il pourra énormément plaire à d'autres palais, sans aucun doute.
