Pampero Selección
Most people here reach for this to build a rum and coke, not to sip. It's fairly sweet and light, all caramel and brown sugar over soft oak, with a thin body and a faint smoky edge that keeps it from being totally flat. One taster calls it the rare rum where the caramel really is caramel — pleasant neat, but pretty one-note. Better than the standard Añejo, though.

- But: Thin body

How does Pampero Selección taste?
Aggregated from 37 community reviews.
Sweet, caramel-forward mixing rum A step up from the basic Pampero but still thin and undemanding — most owners treat it as a mixing rum, and a few find it too one-note even for that.

Only good for mixing
Review by Jakob Deiner
Drinks: - Pur: 3/5 - Rum Cola: 2/5 - Rum Mule: 2/5

Read full review →Overall I would say this rum is fairly sweet and light but with just a little bit of an edge which makes it that little bit more enjoyable. It's certainly a big step up from the standard Pampero Anejo. A rum which is just a little too thin and undemanding....
