Hampden Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 17 HD <>H 2001
Give it ten minutes of air and it opens into what one taster called a "fruchtgranate" — overripe banana, kiwi, pineapple, glue and ester over a dry, slightly smoky base. Most people sip it neat; the 58% sits almost invisibly. A recurring gripe: a sour, astringent edge that not everyone loves. One member also swears it makes an excellent Mai Tai.

Super PLV! Insgesamt ein weniger fruchtiger, adstringierender Hampden!
Review by Lukas Jäger
Mitgebracht vom 10. GRF.

Review by Alexander Rasch
Unlike the Ed24, the more exciting and powerful nose. I like it when the Ester marches forward. On the palate, less balanced and a little less complexity. But I like it very much. Maybe even a bit better than the 24 as more lively and a bit drier. Here I would have liked more of... 🤦♂️

Had a nice evening with friends and a few good rums. Once rested this is a really nice and fruity release. I like the funk and esters in the profile and also the citrus notes in the background. Overall pretty good but the price is too high in my opinion.

Schöne Ester Aromen. Bißchen alkoholisch und säuerlich.
Review by Stylo
I would say that this rum is a typica Hampden! Has all the funk a flavors (banana, pineapple and papaya, a rocky/mineral sent on the nose) along with a fresh lemony note right upfront. To me, it is not the most ester-y of all the Hampden I’ve ever tried, although it is a very nice one indeed. The finish is long and satisfying.

Nose focused on citrus-ey and sour notes. Most Funk on the nose out of the group. Most astringent and funky one on the palate. So far I liked all out of the 2001 <>H batch. Looking at a close field: KD > TB > RC-M > RC Sidenote: makes an excellent Mai Tai.

Review by SaibotZtar
toller Hampden PLV absolut in Ordnung.
Review by Maxence
Very nice fruity nose but mouth is quite unbalanced by a lot of smoky notes. Too bad, it could have been a very good rum.
Review by Oliver
In der Nase schöne Zitrusfrüchte, überreife Banane und Ester. Am Gaumen recht trocken mit angenehmen Bitternoten. Sehr gut integrierter Alkohol. Top Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis (zum Ausgabepreis)!
Review by Tschusikowsky
Review by crazyforgoodbooze
