CDI Hampden Jamaica HLCF 1992
Hampden fans who want fruit over funk will feel at home here. This 24-year 1992 HLCF leans on overripe pineapple, banana and mango, with roasted almond, a little brioche-butter and gentle wood behind it. The ester and glue are dialed back, so it drinks rounder than most Hampdens. Still cask strength at 59.8%, and a few tasters found the nose a touch harsh and sour.
The community says- Overripe tropical fruit
- Beautifully balanced
- Roasted nut notes

legendary drop! 🇯🇲 an absolute explosion of fruit flavors despite 24y long maturation. fully ripe pineapple meets sweet and sour raspberries, roasted almonds, some salted brioche with butter caramel and flambéed bananas, as well as candied fruits. Wood notes that are not too dominant round off the whole thing wonderfully. simply extremely round, complex and very drinkable, almost palatable! Of the "younger" 92 Hampdens, definitely my reference Hampden in terms of fruitiness!

Sublime.

Wow this was a nice surprise. A powerful and intense release and I would have loved to get my hands on a bottle. Intense from nose to finish with nice fruit and esters/glue. Light wood and very good ABV integration. The empty glass is really nice and fruity with some nutts.

Brilliant Hampden with little acidity. I like! Slightly spicier and more tart than the Rumclub 1992.

9:On the nose, esters and glue, rubber, roasted wood notes likepastry, chocolate, roasted nuts, spicy with baking spices, anise, tropical fruits with banana and pineapple, flowery and vegetal molasses, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, red and citrus fruits arise, various sweet notes like fruitcake, brioche, the molasses becomes grassy, some meaty hints also join. 8,9:On the palate, the attack is funky, intense, slightly astringent with esters, glue, overripe tropical, citrus and red fruits, Haribo gummy bears, vegetal molasses with briny olive, herbaceous, flowery, buttery roasted wood notes with pastry, brioche, nuts, smoky with meaty tones, spicy. 8,8:The finish is long, dry, astringent, as esters and rubber, metallic patina, complement tropical fruits, rhubarb, red fruits, perhaps candied fruits and smoky, roasted wood notes, spicy. Edit:22.3.26

Sehr geiler Stoff. Danke an Alex_Kunath für den Split.

Noticeably harsher than the RC and Nobilis on the nose.

The nose is simply brilliant with overripe fruits such as mango, pineapple and banana, plus light floral notes and some menthol. Really fun on the palate too. Overall very fruity, intense and beautifully complex.

27-07-2026 - Rate 9.3 Have tasted this rum many times over the years. Had it blind this time, with 3 other Hampden Titans. This is a really good rum, but it lost the competition to the other 3 this evening.

Amazing Hampden, very well balanced!
Review by Schnubbii

not too high an ester level, so the sour fermentation and butteriness don't come to the fore. But that's what makes Hampden so special for me. I like the Velier with the higher HGML Marque that I just tasted a tick better.

Beautifully balanced continentally aged Hampden, a perfect mix of esters and fruits, power and delicacy. Love it!

24 years of HLCF in the barrel... Certainly not my favorite marrow, but still very tasty. Still comparatively spicy despite its age, although this is probably due to the marrow and comes through more in the acidity than the alcohol. Nevertheless, its age is definitely noticeable, a good portion and various spices such as aniseed and cinnamon resonate behind the typical fruit basket and create an almost Christmassy aroma. Then some marzipan and almonds and finally an eternal finish - Hampden, even if others disappear a little more slowly here.
Review by tojo
A real surprise! From the smell to the taste to the finish, a great collection of red fruits (currants, raspberries) and yellow fruits. Very little ester and wood/roasted notes. An ideal summer rum.
Review by Buddudharma
Very nice Hampden with a great balance of all elements.
Review by Stylo
What a gem! I truly believe that HLCF and HGML are the best expressions of Hampden! Tons of overripe tropical fruits (ananas, jack fruit and banana), mixed with heavier, creamier notes (butter and beef) with a touch of brine and wood from the barrel. I simply cannot stop sniffing and sipping this wonderful rum!

... Hampden, legendarni jamajska destilerka, ktera krome rumu produkuje take alkohol do parfemu. Ve vsech rumech z teto destilerky ucitite divoke estery, po kterych cely vas organizmus nasakne vuni zluteho tropickeho ovoce - manga, papaji, anansu, broskvi. Jeden z rumu, ktere "must try before die"

Very nice, sweet, intense, buttery and salty with a lot of fruit. A little sour on the nose but all you can ask for when tasting. Absolutely top level of the Jamaicans I have had since I became a Rum nerd 👍😎
