The nose pulls people in with vanilla, apricot and glue-like esters over caramel, but the palate splits the room: some find floral, chocolatey stone fruit with a Cognac edge, while plenty call it sharp, thin and awkwardly cut at 49.3%. Un Beenleigh d’une grande douceur, embouteillé au bon degré. Le côté floral/rose est accompagné de fruits exotiques et d’agrumes cuits. Bonne finale mais manque peut-être d’un peu de longueur.

By the just under 50% is this rum he loses a lot of flavor in my opinion. According to packaging, it should taste fruity with light coconut shares, unfortunately, I can not confirm this, because the sharpness predominates due to the alcohol content. In the finish, although a slight honey sweetness comes about which also lasts a little but I will not buy him again.

Nez agréable après ouverture, fruits tropicaux caramélisés mêlés aux solvants. Puis le côté pâtissier prend de l'ampleur après quelques minutes. En bouche c'est très rond sur le chocolat les agrumes. C'est gourmand avec une touche de réglisse et quelques épices type muscade et cannelle. La finale est assez courte malheureusement. Agréablement surpris par ce jus.

This is the first Australian rum i tried and i must say that i like this one a lot. Fruity and a bit of a cognac style rum. Finish could have been a bit longer though. This one is going on my wishlist 😋

Plantation Australia surprises with a very pronounced nose of wood glue, followed by a purée of ripe, almost rotten exotic fruits, immediately reminiscent of a Jamaican rum. There's a funky side to this rum, aged for 13 years in Bourbon casks in Queensland, followed by a year in cognac casks in France. You can immediately feel the kangaroos bouncing up and down your nostrils on these Harlequin candy markers. On the palate, it's more the languorous, gourmand side of the kangaroo, with a definite sweetness (although there's no added sugar) and a taste of vanilla custard with some slightly acidic fruit (peach, apricot). Round and disarming. The finish has a delicate woodiness and a few hints of nuts.

A chocolaty base profile with some peach, but then mostly floral notes. A bit of nail polish on the nose. The finish is reminiscent of cognac. The alcohol is not ideally integrated especially towards the back and it lacks a bit of power.

Überraschend anders für einen Australier. Anfangs sehr mild und warm, mit Vanille und Karamell fast spanisch in der Nase, kommt er am Gaumen erstaunlich kraftvoll und herb daher. Keine Champions League, aber wer das bei einem Plantation aus Australien sucht, ist wohl auch auf der falschen Fährte. Guter Preis für gute Qualität, kann man durchaus mal zwischenrein trinken.

very round Australian and finally times again what without dosage and X finishes of Plantation. I like very well and shows in a beginner-friendly way how exciting Australia can be. very floral, fruity after stone fruit and some cocoa and cinnamon. in the finish minimally woody, toasty and drying what will be due to the cognac finish. would be nice if Plantation continues at this level!

Do Štědrého dne zbývá už jenom týden a 17. rumem Planteray adventního kalendáře je Australia 2007 z limitované edice Birds od Paradise. Jedná se o rum z destilerie Beenleigh, který je unikátní v tom, že melasa cukrové třtiny byla dlouhých 12 dnů a následně byla vypálena v měděném kotlíku. Poté rum zrál 13 let v 200 litrových sudech po bourbonu v domovské palírně a 1 rok ve 400 litrových sudech po koňaku ve Francii. Lahvován byl v roce 2021 při 166 esterech, bez dobarvování a doslazování, v sudové síle 49,3%. Jak ukázaly komentáře, díky dlouhé fermentaci je ten rum unikátní, najdete si tam kousek Jamajky, Guyany i třeba Haiti. Nechutná to jako obvyklý rum z Beenleight / Austrálie a důvod je ten, že u tohoto rumu byl Alexandre Gabriel od začátku a on říká, že nejdůležitější pro výslednou chuť rumu je fermentace, kdy v tomto případě 12 dní je opravdu výjimečně dlouhá doba, obvykle se kvasí 2-3 dny. #plantadvent2025

Voor mij een van de minste van de paradise birds series van Plantation. De alcohol komt sterk op de voorgrond en de invloed van de cognac is te groot voor mijn smaak. Het is geen partij voor de Duchess Australia 13, ook afkomstig van de Beenleigh distilleerderij. Ik weet al wat ik hierna drink 😁

My first “One-Time Limited edition” from Plantation. Got a bottle from a good friend of my. I loved the tasted. I bought a extra bottle and after this one I bought the hole birds serie. Taste and price combi is perfect for me.
