CDI Travellers Belize (Bottled for Perola) 2007

Sip this one slowly and neat — at 67.1% it needs a good 15 minutes to open. Give it that time and you get thick, oily roasted wood, dark chocolate, walnuts and caramelized burnt sugar, with dried apricots and raisins reading like fruitcake. A cask-strength Belize from Travellers that stays surprisingly balanced for the proof, though a few tasters found the palate a touch quiet.

Aggregated from 30 community reviews.

Spicy, chocolatey cask-strength Belize sipper Most find it a spicy, chocolate-and-roasted-wood Belize that hides its 67% well. A couple wanted more complexity, and one felt the alcohol sat too far forward on the palate.

once again a very horny and unusual Belize Rum! 67.1% are definitely noticeable, which needs >15 minutes time to breathe! then comes really a wacky note of lemon, bergamot, as well as floral tones of elderberry, sandalwood, eucalyptus and baking spices to the fore, the typical pineapple note is here rather in the background.taste then very thick, oily and concentrated, the whole mouth virtually stuck with glue, dark chocolate, sandalwood and bergamot, as well as mocha and macaroons and caramelized meringue with some lemon zest, fat! overall very balanced despite the high % number. And an extremely unusual long finish....

Sehr schöner Belize. Der Geruch hält was er verspricht. Schöne tropische Früchte und leichte Würze. Das spiegelt sich sich im Geschmack wieder. Der Abgang ist lang und kräftig. Der ABV spielt auch sehr gut mit. 🇧🇿 ❤️

Beautiful Belize. The 67% one does notice. But still a nice sipp. For ne 90 rating but too little complexity

On the nose, first bourbon and vanilla, then dried fruit comes in and the alcohol is quite present - not surprising at over 67%.The palate shows very spicy and alcoholic on the evening. Unfortunately, not that much happens here and the alcohol is very forward. A slight floral and earthy note comes in. The aftertaste is short to medium length with emphasis on the roasted flavors.Had I hoped for more of but still a solid rum.
