Neisson Rhum Élévé Sous Bois
Just one year in wood and it lands in an odd middle ground — the fresh grassy cane of an unaged agricole, but with a light oak, vanilla and pepper edge on top. Tasters find baked-apple and citrus notes, a woody, earthy palate, and 50% that shows as a spicy heat up front. Pleasant enough, not very complex, and a touch young.

How does Neisson Rhum Élévé Sous Bois taste?
Aggregated from 22 community reviews.
Young grassy agricole, spicy and a bit hot Most see a decent short-aged agricole caught between raw and mature — grassy cane, oak, citrus, but a sharp alcohol bite. Several would rather sip the unaged Neisson or use this for drinks.

Review by Daniel Gray Garrison
Very sweet yet has a bright grassiness that still falls squarely in the unaged agricole. Lots of delicate notes and undertones. Excellent in tiki drinks, it doesn't get lost against fresh citrus juice

I can’t get apple pie out of my mind with this one. Something, mostly from the aroma, strongly reminds me baked apples and spice but the palette is woodier, earthier, and has some nice spicy notes.
Review by Buddudharma
Pleasant sipper, creamy with well-integrated alcohol. The very short maturation, however, creates a profile that is neither fish nor meat, I like the unripened Neisson better.

Orange and peel. Oak and vanilla. Some bourbon. Dark copper pour.

For me personally still a little too young and immature. For good drinks but certainly top!

Unfortunately, this Neisson is not enough for an easy sipper. It tastes quite sharp-edged with dominant sweet sugar cane notes and grass, young wood,... Rather unsuitable neat, maybe something for cocktails.
Review by PeixeGato
Spicy and a little hot up front. Touch of caramel. Not very complex.
