Wow, what can I say? Simply a successful Foursquare. The finish is amazing. The red wine comes out very well here. Otherwise cherry and dried fruit. Very strong.

Very interesting how dominant the Sauternes finish is on the Foursquare. Intense notes of sour cherries and various dried fruits, light tannins from the Sauternes, light jam notes, some cocoa and baking spices. Cool number, only the alcohol could be minimally better integrated but could also be due to the tannins from the wine barrel... Nice, tasty and very complex number! Stable daily sipper and at the price of 70€ a bottle you really can't go wrong. 👍😁

The sweet wine notes of the Sauternes cask finish come through beautifully. Coconut and chocolate are also present. The palate is also rather sweet, towards milk chocolate

In my opinion, the Sauterness cask is quite dominant. In addition to the wine notes, the typical FS markers are also present. Not particularly complex, but very tasty with a pleasant sweetness from the Sauternes cask and an easy sipper.

Too sweet, too much wine influence. The nose is pretty nice, prunes and red fruits, some coconut and chocolate. A bit of wine is already noticeable, it becomes overwhelming drinking, and here's where the rum is ruined, because all the traits on the nose are found also drinking, but too much wine is there

31.07.2021 A nice tasting held by a bygone spirits shop. Notes Dark in colour. Nose Light wood, fruity, sweet, dried fruit, faint coffee, pineapple. Palate Round, fresh, light wood, medium spicy, light polish, light orange, dried fruit, faint chocolate. Finish Medium long, fresh, light roasted wood, faint chocolate, orange, light chocolate.

arrg…disgusting…changing slightly to the better after sniffing a while, but still rough…acid, alcohol much too dominant; on the palate improving, a hidden sweetness, a bit caramel, wood, rubber, but just not convincing at all. Finish? ….

A fine thing! Realization: Foursquare is not really my thing, nor is a rum with a finish. But: This Foursquare with a Sauternes finish really got me right away! 🤗 Great rum that easily beats even heavyweights like the Foursquare from Valinch & Mallet (2006). I would have liked to have had more than the 2cl free addition. 😉 Cheers!

Great: a mixture of Foursquare and red wine on the nose! Goes well together! The taste and finish are not as smooth as I know from other Foursquare. The red wine cask puts a clear stamp on the rum. A successful finish!

Sour FSQ ... Foursquare is a distillery from Barbados producing amazing rums for everyday sipping. It's a rum that will be appreciated especially by rums who are fed up with sugar and are looking for a smooth, sweet rum full of coconut, vanilla, chocolate and caramel. Just pleasant and not aggressive flavours.
