Not a classic beauty but with her own charm. No short dance-off in the disco followed by a quick number. Here you have to go out for dinner and a movie first😜 2-3 drops of water, if you like, help to round it off. Needs air and time. I let it breathe for over an hour. Certainly not for the daily sipper. Dark and heavy, it fits me extremely well.

#6841 24.05.2026 Running a few evening samples while listening to some Psy Trance on Spotify. A pretty decent Caroni with an OK price tag. Thanks for the sample xxx :-) A fruity rum with spices, leather, smoke, wood, nutts and some chocolate.

A sample collected at the Lucerne Rum Festival. A nose of yellow fruit, machine shop and bitter orange with a slight machine shop feel. The entry is very fruity, yellow fruit (pear) and exotic fruit in equal measure, then aromas of Caronis arrive. It's good, but for a Caroni I can regret a lack of aromatic complexity. The finish is rather short, austere, marked by wood and seems a little diluted. The empty glass is marked by wood, machine shop notes and a little acetone. Not much is missing to be a great Caroni, the fruitiness is undoubtedly there, but it remains a little unbalanced and lacks complexity. Perhaps the cask was not of the best quality?

Caroni 1998 Crosstasting: Nice profile with present HTR notes, caramel sweetness, wood and dark spices. Well balanced, accessible, great Caroni.
