01.04.2026 Retasting and I still like it a lot 😊 ------------ 14.02.2023 Relaxing at home with a few samples. Colour Medium dark to dark. Nose Light wood, light mint, faint caramel, light herbal, faint chocolate, faint smoke. Palate Balanced, oily, wood, faint smoke, fruits, light mint, herbal, dried fruit, faint cherry, faint chocolate. Finish Medium to long, oily, round, balanced, wood, light roasted, herbal, light herbal, dried fruit, faint chocolate.

//update: still great, but more emphasis on the doughy/buttery nose this time. A bit less fruity especially in direct comparison with other 98s Great Caroni with a less industrial style, more fruity/herbal. Still great complexity and well integrated alcohol, many flavors to explore. The looong finish gives enough time to explore and find notes. Really like it!

Very tasty Caroni! Very similar to Bellamy's Reserve Caroni although only 3 months apart.Intense herbal and menthol notes, some bitter orange, smoky/dirty without it being too dominant, acacia honey, overripe mango and cinnamon bark, almost reminiscent of chai tea. In direct comparison to the Bellamy caroni is the here almost a little tamer and fruiter, only the finish is significantly shorter in comparison.

Sehr typischer kontinentaler 1998er Caroni. HTR-Aromen, prägnant ist hier eine recht präsente Röstnote aus dem Fass. Ein weiterer sehr guter Vertreter des Jahrgangs.
