    Fans of Jamaican funk adore this one — hugely estery, fruity and oily. At 65.2% it runs hot and turns dry-tannic late, and it's a small, hard-to-find release.

  3. Best for: Fans of high-ester funk and Savanna's olive-brine style

    People deep in the funk world adore this — brine, olive, pineapple and solvent, with the Hampden finish adding real depth. A one-trick pony to some, but a trick they love.

  4. Best for: Fans of high-ester cane funk and Caroni-style dirtiness

    Loved as one of the wildest, most complex Mhobas out there — funky, chocolatey and impressively mature for its age. A few find the alcohol under-integrated and the finish a touch short.

    Most love this single-cask Foursquare for its bourbon-heavy, cherry-and-caramel profile. The catch: at 60.2% the spice and heat can bulldoze the finer notes, and water barely helps.

    A well-liked, resinous Venezuelan — chocolate, blackberry, herbs and pine. Most call it intense and enjoyable; some find it a touch hot and a little less complex than the age suggests.
